Positive way to look at it for both Villa and Forest is they'll both be up there with the favourites to win those competitions.

Not sure that will be any consolidation for their finance directors. Conference league is loss-making for teams playing in it, and Europa requires QF just to break even. At least Forest aren't used to the CL money coming in. Villa are likely to have issues from both PSR and cash flow perspective by not making the CL.

(Ps I'd be the first to say it's a shame the conversation has to boil down to money / revenue, but this is the reality clubs are faced with at present)

Forest fans on their forum saying he isn't trigger happy St all based on how long he took to sack Hughton and Lamouchi.

Also that as they're not Champions league they won't be able to attract a higher calibre of manager anyway.

Villa operating at 96% wages/turnover ratio that was before their January expenditure though (and CL income presumably.)

Plenty of gates under 7k this season despite being near the top throughout. There's no real dormant support out there like you might have with someone like Blues, what they have is all there is.
