Fair play, turned up today against a strong Spanish team. Deserved.

Hampton the top player. She’s really good. England fans won’t like the comparison, but that’s an Argentina style win (meant as a compliment) and fair play to them for going to it after they looked lost at half time.

Odd isn’t. While they’re both extremely similar to their national male counterparts, Spain seem to have entirely replicated the pros and cons l, whereas England have happily only accentuated the positives.

Was what I was thinking, very Italia 90.

I’m off work tomorrow so I’m having a few to celebrate, as a Wolves and England fan you don’t get much opportunity to celebrate winning much. Football often lets you down so when this happens enjoy every moment.

While I was having a few pints in my local I was considering the tournament. Have to admit I don't watch loads of women's football, just watched England's quarters, semis and the final. I've enjoyed the entertainment factor, not bothered about the perceived quality, it is what it is. However in previous tournaments I've always thought the goalkeeping has been appalling, in the games Ive seen this time it's definitely improved, in fact the England keeper has been good.
Also, pleased Carter had a solid game, she's had a lot of criticism of her performances (not to mention the racism) but thought she stepped up tonight.

So enjoyed that. What a second half performance to get themselves back in the game and then grit and determination to stay in it in extra time when the heroic efforts of that second half really took its toll. Outclassed in extra time but stick together, don’t concede and you’ve always got a chance.

Joyous scenes at the end, what a wonderful thing. Delighted for all involved.

Thought maybe it was getting to the end of the line for Bronze, she was a bit inconsistent in the games I saw, turns out she was playing with a broken tibia! Can that be true?

Depends what type of fracture sounds like a stress or hairline fracture so would be possible to play but very risky and uncomfortable.

Chloe Kelly’s winning penalty has been measured at a speed of 110 km p/h. The fastest premier league goal of last season was measured at 109 km p/h. Incredible for a dead ball hit.
Anyone thinking that the speed was a fluke should note that her winning penalty against Nigeria (110.7 km p/h or 69 mph) in the last World Cup was also quicker than any premier league goal in the season prior to that tournament.
