Live Match Discussion 2025/26

I think when Wolves were drawn out there were 6 lower league teams still in.
And we got Everton. only a few days after we play them in the league.

'The players spoke'
I think Amorim means they deliberately didn't play.

Can someone explain to me the “pre draw” nonsense with the European teams. They’ve said “because of clashes with then CL/EL” but they aren’t getting a bye, they are going to have to play the game, so why does it matter who they play?

It’s because of fixture scheduling & the extra games in the group stages of the CL/EL now.

Its, I believe, due to those CL/EL games being played at the same time as the League Cup.

As those Euro games are spilt over a 2 week period, the League Cup will do the same.
If say Villa get drawn v Liverpool, they wouldn't be able to play on either of the 2 weeks as one will be in European action when the other isnt..
So making them avoid each other stops that event.

They really should just exclude the European teams from the League Cup
Are you mad? Surely that would affect advertising revenue and other revenue streams?....
Anyone would think it's got something to do with sport 😲

Ok thanks. So rather than half on Tuesday and half on Wednesday like it has been traditionally in the CL, they’ll now have a quarter of the game week fixtures on Tuesday, then quarter on Wednesdays and the same the following week.

Shambles but if they don’t give an obvious decision they hide behind clear and obvious.
Michael Salisbury the same bloke who thought Onana was fine clearing out 2 players in the box v us

That's a one sided referee performance that I've seen for years, numerous decisions wrong and added time on added time.

Silva is rightly fuming!

Just us and West Ham pointless as it stands (before their game)

These 22 players have got to be the worst set of players in an Old Firm derby since I can't remember. There has always been one dominate team in this fixture mainly Celtic over the years but these players are truly wank.

Dreadful game, Scottish league football is at one of its lowest points currently.
But it’s one of them everyone in Scotland will bemoan how poor the league is but will go mad with rage if anyone outside of Scotland tells them that (English football fans).

How is that Fulham goal not given?
PGMOL since apologised... great.

I've been going to watch football for 40 years or so... seen Wolves in all four divisions, consequently witnessed refereeing at various levels from being amateurs to the current iteration at the top of the game... fully professional with all the technology available to them.

So... when Howard Webb tells me that referees now get 98% (or whatever it is) correct I quite frankly don't give a shit.

Football isn't an exact science, it's not about absolutes, it's all about living in the moment, spontaneity, joy even!

What we have now is stripping all of that away, eroding the supporter experience...it's not improving anything in a tangible way other than it being statistically "better".
