Fabio Silva (Las Palmas)
Was that the season that gets Fabio his move? It was a decent one to be fair, 10 league goals in a poor side that eventually went down. Played the number 9 role in a largely 4-3-2-1. Highlights were scoring at both Camp Nou and the Bernabeu, plus a brace at Getafe. Picked up a muscle injury at the end of the season. LP seemed to miss him while he was out – they lost every one of their last six games without him to seal their relegation.
Loan rating: 9/10 - if we can get a decent fee for him then upgrade it to a 10. No one thought that was possible this time last year (apart from the Boy Wonder himself maybe)
Hugo Bueno - Feyenoord, Eredivisie
Played fairly regularly up until February where he appeared to make the LB spot his own. Played more sporadically after that including on the left wing vs Milan at the San Siro where he popped up with an assist.
Can he replace RAN? Being part of a defence that kept clean sheets against Bayern and Milan (at home) may give him confidence, but not being able to nail down a place in an Eredisie side is a concern.
8/10: Looked decent in the Champions League but lost his way a bit as the season went on. Defensive uncertainties still linger.
Ki-Jana Hoever - Auxerre, Ligue 1
Was first-choice RWB in a staunchly mid-table Auxerre side after an opening day on the left-hand side in which the coach quickly decided that that wasn’t going to work. Surprised he only got 3 goal involvements given how much he got forward.
7/10 - Not bad, but he’s never going to make it in the Prem so hopeful Auxerre or a similar club take a punt on a permanent signing.
Chem Campbell - Reading, League One
An important part of Reading’s attack, often completing the full game which suggests excellent stamina being a wide forward. Went long spells without a goal involvement but regularly involved in build-up play.
7/10 - Nailed down his place in the team but went through a long dry spell with no G/As. A move to the Champ (and a bit of money for us) may be beyond him.
Dexter Lembikisa - Barnsley, League One
Q “What do Yverdon Sport and Barnsley have in common?” A “They both loaned Dexter Lembikisa from Wolves in 2024/25!
Not the greatest quiz question, and not the greatest season for Lemb, in which he didn’t do a fat lot.
3/10
Joe Hodge, Nigel Lonwijk, Tawinda Chirewa - Huddersfield, League One
Lonwijk was an important part of the defence before Christmas but then injuries meant that he only played four games in 2025 and the team deteriorated in his absence, including 9 defeats in the last 11 games as they fell out of the play-off picture.
Chirewa had some bright moments but ultimately failed to score or assist in his loan spell from Feb onwards. Dropped from the team for the run-in.
Hodge scored on his debut but then couldn’t nail down a place in midfield. Out for 2 months with a groin injury in the autumn. In and out the team since then.
Hodge 3/10 - Made little impact in the third tier - 23 in a few months, get what you can for him
Lonwijk - 6/10 Also turns 23 a month after Hodge. More promise than Hodge but hasn’t shown enough to be given a chance by us IMO.
Chirwea - 4/10 - Is 21 with two more years on his deal. Perhaps a Champ move would be good for him for a make-or-break season.
Fletcher Holman and Ethan Sutherland - Solihull, National League
Holman didn’t have a great start: nine of his first 10 games were defeats as Solihull turned a play-off push into a relegation fight. He still scored his 3 goals in that time, though, and the team improved towards the end of the season.
Sutherland made just 5 appearances (3 as sub) and featured on the left, with one cameo role up front.
Holman - 6/10 - grabbed a few goals in a team falling apart. Only 20. Might be able to get a League loan next season
Sutherland - 3/10 - didn’t really do anything of note.
Jimmy Storer - Chester FC, National League North
An eventful season in which he jumped a couple of leagues to join Chester from Darlaston. Was an ever-present (apart from the last game) and helped them reach the play-off final (beating Kiddy in the semis) only to lose 2-1 at Scunthorpe in extra time. Kept 9 clean sheet in 25 games.
8/10 - Handled the jump up the leagues well to help his team to a play-off final. 20 years old and has had a contract offer from Wolves, so we’ll probably see him at a higher level next season.
Josh Esen - Redditch, South League Central Premier
Started off with a run in the first team but then lost his place as Redditch struggled and just about stayed up.
4/10 - Losing his place in such a low-level team is a tad careless but he’s still under contract for next year.
Marvin Kaleta - Motherwell, SPL
Big Marv featured in 20 consecutive league games down the right for Motherwell, grabbing a pair of assists along the way, but then couldn’t shake off an injury he picked up in February and didn’t feature in the last 8 games.
7/10 - As much as we mock it, the SPL’s a decent standard for him to nail down a regular starting berth at 20. Shame about the injuries.
Lewys Benjamin - Stourbridge FC, Southern League Premier League Central
The 18-year-old broke into the first team not long after arriving then seemed to play most games as Stourbridge finished mid-table.
7/10 - Winning a place in any team is sure to give any teenager a confidence boost. Onto next season.
Chiquinho - RCD Mallora, La Liga
A pointless loan in which Chiq played a whole 17 minutes since the end of November, with 15 of those coming in a cup defeat against fourth-tier Pontevedra.
1/10 - 1 may seem generous, but Mallorca are a good team so maybe it was too much for him? Would be a shame if he fell through the leagues now but it doesn’t look good.
And a special mention to Finn Ashworth who went to Port Vale and er…cut the oranges at half time? The 19 year-old didn’t make the squad once since signing in February.
