Lockdown and wildlife

A student up the road from us used to walk her Border Collie with a full grown Mackaw on her shoulder!

You have to wonder about the toilet training. Not sure how you do that but a bit yuk if not.

I did managed to have a brief chat with the lady, she was really lovely in a mad professor sort of way. She’d either nailed it or wasn’t bothered.

Seemed odd to me but walking your dog with your parrot on your shoulder seemed the most natural thing in the world to her.

Was just nice to see someone living their life a bit alternatively but very happily tbh.

Not really keeping with the thread as the circumstances are totally different of course, but woke up this morning and had a look out to sea through the telescope that’s in the cottage we’re staying in and noticed a seal just chilling on a rock out in the sea. Watched for a while and a whole load of them joined him. It was ace. Would have watched longer but were driving up to Cromarty in a bit to go out on a RIB boat to look for dolphins and whatnot. I hate being out at sea and I’m shitting myself but it should be a good experience.

Loving my office set up in the garden.

Working this week so it's a quiet one so most of the day is watching the wildlife. This little chap is just over a metre away from my door. Could pop this in the mental health thread as well because it's very calming out here

Nuno is also on wildlife watch...but that's is mainly because he wants to kill the pigeons

Love the wood floors mate

Chiffchaffs singing in the woods this morning. This thread is a handy log of when I’ve heard them first before and looms like this is early. Was listening out for them on Sunday but missed the last few days so they might have arrived even earlier. A real sign of spring. Osprey next :)

Male Osprey back today. Same date as last year. Chose the kind of day that must make it wonder why it bothered.

Wheres the ospreybeen spotted?
I know little ringed plovers are starting to turn up, couple of sand martins arriving in Staffordshire been spotted as well

Picked this little bugger up today so a reminder to keep your eye out guys. Getting several every year now but the warm spring kicked things off early this time.

One of the other riders got Lyme disease last year but after a sick couple of weeks managed to catch it stage 1 with seemingly no lasting damage. Nearly 3 years on I’m just left with a left arm that doesn’t fully extend so not great but in the grand scheme of things could’ve been worse.

Sorry for the gross pic but as we’re probably heading outdoors enjoying the lovely weather keep your eye out and don’t take any chances, and use a proper extractor tool if you need to because tweezers leave the infected legs in! IMG_1879.png

Had a muntjac(?) running round the garden earlier. Random as fook where I live. Of course the hard man cat tried to fight it :ROFLMAO:
