New - The things that really annoy you

What always staggers me with Google maps, is when you're on a straight road and you search for something, it's never proper obvious which way you should go. The amount of times I've walked 20 yards and been like "Oop, nope, t'other way" .

You'd think it should be 50/50, but it's definitely closer to 80/20
You know, I've never thought about how GPS tries to determine what direction you're facing. It must just be by the last direction you were moving, but it could be way more sophisticated than that, tapping into phone accelerometers or similar.

In the beer garden having a lovely time and got stung by a wasp. Annoyed me.

Wasps are essentially the WBA of the animal kingdom. Annoying, pointless stripey cunts.
You'll likely appreciate, then, that most wasps that go after people have literally aged out of the ability to find their nest again, so they spend the rest of their lives (usually not more than a day or so at that point IIRC) confused and pissed off. Hence going on solo dive bombing runs.

Waze is great because incidents and notable delays are updated in real time by other road users. So if you suddenly hit a big queue you can see pretty much immediately what is holding you up ahead of you.
Google does that.

There is as much to appreciate about wasps as there is Goncalo Guedes.

Both utterly pointless creatures.

Albion in Hull City kits

Google does that.
I've never seen it do any of it.

Roadworks, mobile speed cameras, bad potholes, Waze has loads of the alert icons just checking my local area in a mile or two radius right now on the app.

Google Maps doesn't show even one of those things. I've seen it put road closures on, but that's about it.

Waze and Google Maps are literally the same thing with a different skin.

My regular route to the office in Leeds I can do without help but always have my sat nav on for the traffic situation.
What generally happens though is it will advise me of delays, I will tell it to fuck off and stop sending me via Oldham and ignore it so it might as well be off.
I think the traffic avoidance element is key. I’ve tried not using navigation to force me to learn routes etc but you just can’t risk going anywhere without it so you get stuck in the spiral of just following the screen. Just a sign of the times I guess.

Wasps eat garden pests like greenfly so they’re ok by me, though can be annoying if you’re sat outside. In football kit terms they’re hooped not striped.

Maybe it's an iPhone vs Android thing as I don't even see the option to add reports.

Nope it's definitely enabled, just checked. Google is just crap at it compared to Waze.

I've seen the occasional roadworks one on there before but it's very hit and miss and excludes loads of them.

It never shows any of those when I use it.
Does it appear when you start an actual drive on the map?

I prefer Waze apart from when it decides to take you off road to save 2 minutes.
