O'Neil aka GONe

I sat through Saunders yet Lage finished me off.

The last part of his first season in charge is some of the most awful football I've ever had to watch, and yet we didn't sack him. We then put the prices up. I will in all likelihood never go to another Wolves game thanks to the ending of that season and the realisation we were keeping him in charge.

The bits inbetween all of that of course.

Remember there was that brief spell where we were talked about as being in the shout for a European place...so that paints a different picture for some. Full focus on minor positive things.

Just like it did with GO, that collapsed quickly and he was only done over by our great big Adama giveaway.
He wasn't even here for 18 months and he still had 4 entirely separate dreadful runs.

Careful, Nigel in Florida will tell you he knows better than you.

Who’s ignoring them. Of If I could change two things in my time watching Wolves it would probably be no car crash for Barnwell and beating Bolton in the playoffs.
Aldershot + Torquay to that list...oh...and fucking Watford.

Which was the good bit of Lage out of interest?

Because we started with 4 defeats out of 5 (2 goals, one of them an own goal), then had that run of 2 goals in 8 games, then that other one of losing 9 out of 14, then we won 1 out of 9 in the following season.
Beating Leicester to go to 7th I guess...

I think those first three games under Lage have achieved mythical status as much down to us being able to go again post-Covid than anything what happened on the pitch. The two are just conflated after watching sterile football and the last few months of Nuno's tenure.

Anybody with eyes in their skull could see that the football under Lage was unsustainable, a statistical freak in conceding so few and in the final 14 games of the season we reverted to the mean which carried on into the next season.

And yet, somehow, GON surpassed it...

Not bad... almost two years on here before some cunt comes up with that bollocks.
Oh I knew who you were a long time ago, mate.

Call me a cunt again and I'll be over to tell you how that goes down.

Sorry for being nasty to your mate Bruno, I guess.

Such a disingenuous poster, same as 20 years ago.

Keep up the insults.

As I've said before, I treat this place as if we were having a beer in the Western. Not everyone in life is going to agree with you but a bit of respect for differing opinions is nice now and then. Sorry if I upset you by countering some of yours. I've got better things to do than this b/s and I would think, so do you. Enjoy your Sunday.

I love how whenever there is debate about Bruno the best his defenders can do is ‘we played well in those 3 defeats’.

3 losses were the highlight of his time here.
The Villa comeback was his highlight to be fair, but his reaction to it just showed how fucking odd he is.

A lot of the ire against Lage is justified, not a good manager at all, but would be nice if it was focused less on him and more on those that decided to go from Nuno to appoint him. Fosun and their football hierarchy (which includes Mendes) should be getting more flak when we remember the Lage era.
