So we are still getting handouts? Wolves must have far more cash than some of the clubs above us in the league. Do you think the board are tight with this money??

From the beginning of the 2010/11 football season the parachute payments provided to English or Welsh football clubs relegated from the Premiership will change to a total of £48 million to be paid over a total of 4 years.

This effectively means that the club will receive £12 million a year for 4 years.

2 years of £16m, 2 years of £8m.

There are teams receiving more than Wolves this season, make no mistake.

Just Norwich. In year 1 of larger handouts than us.

Boro have built a team over the last 18 months, Bournemouth have an owner that makes Hand outs from the Prem league not really needed. Derby again have built a team over a period, Watford loan half of Italy and Spain, Mick is doing what Mick does best with a budget of £0.

Also, none of the above would have players earning 40k a week whilst in League 1

1 Russian Oligarch
2 Chelsea Reserves
3 Steve McLaren building a good system with good players based on £0 cash being spent
4 Mick McCarthy eeking the best out of an average bunch - Championship Manager of the century based on success
5 Italy, Spain and England 'loans'
6 Twice as much in payments and a better squad to start from
7 That one I'll give you.

To be fair, next season will be the first season where it won't be used to pay wages of players that we don't use.

Looking at those squads I don't see any significantly better than Wolves, pre season give me Wolves and 10 points and I back Wolves against the field.
