Pre-season 25-26

He was unsighted and it dipped according to Naylz

Forgot when I actually looked forward to a start of a season

Let’s be honest (yes, I know it’s pre-season) - our starting 11 is weak and didn’t look great in that first half. We barely created anything and looked pretty poor across the park. We’ve since made a load of changes and looked even worse. But we all know the back ups aren’t good enough and this is only proving that further. And Lens made 10 changes themselves at half time!

Vítor has really, REALLY got his work cut out.

1-0 down and you put on half your B team. Oh well, all about fitness.

Results are irrelevant however there’s not been much to be positive about in what we’ve seen.

Guedes pulls one back. He’ll be sold tomorrow (quite rightly).

Sasa on.

And then Lens score again to make it 1-3 on the break.

Gonna be a loooooooooooong season ladies & gents.

Yeah. I’d say hopefully a wake up call but Jeff and co will just meander on until shit hits the fan
And then the answer will be vitor getting the boot, because obviously it’s all his fault

Jao playing with his nipper post match, highlight of the game.

To summarise.

Goalkeepers:
Sa - fine.
Bentley/Johnstone/King - at best, third choice. Two need to leave and another legitimate signing needs to come in to be second choice.

Full/wing backs:
Hugo B. Hoever. Rodrigo. Lima. All 4 are only good enough to be back ups. That means two starting 11 players need to be signed.

Centre backs:
Agba. Toti. Fine.
Doc. Ok, but you wouldn’t want him to be first choice long term.
Yerson. Jury is out on his fitness.
Santi only good enough to be a back up.

Central midfield:
Andre/Joao Gomes - fine.
Munetsi/Bellegarde - neither good enough to play central midfield and neither are long term options in the wide forward roles. Squad players.

Forwards:
JSL/Lopez - fine.
Arias - assume he will be fine, but anyone’s guess.
Sasa/Hwang/Guedes - combination of not good enough, need to prove fitness or will be sold.

So to put it in the cold light of day, our entire mens first team squad has 7 - at a push 9, premier league quality players. After that, the drop off is huge.

It’s an absolute scandal that Fosun have left Vítor in this position - and the funniest bit is, we’ve all seen it happen before. “The penny has dropped”.
