Pre-season 25-26

Yeah, pant wetters! Listen to the cool kids.

We'll be just fine with Munetsi and Chirewa in midfield

U guys need put one video to Sa.

And asking, by u are nervous with the ball: look this video..

And the video show Rene Higuita dribbling rivals. :p

It's just not important though. We looked decent under Gaz last year. West Ham won 11 out of 11 pre-season games under Avram Grant ffs.

Problem is you’ve got Huge amount of fees and/or wages invested in Bentley, Johnstone, Hoever, Lima, Bueno, Munetsi, Bellegarde, Hwang, Guedes, Sasa, Fabio and we don’t want any of them starting games and this doesn’t include R Gomes who we’ve spent a lot of money on but seems to be being kept out by Hoever and doesn’t really fit anywhere else.

We’ve just acquired so much tat and expensive tat. Our wage bill is probably ridiculously high despite having little to show from it despite losing a lot of high earners. Given the penny pinching nature of the club, I wouldn’t be surprised if a lack of activity is down to not being able to clear some of this tat.

Literally everyone posting is worried about the squad rather than the result 😅
Agreed. But it’s been enhanced tonight watching that performance. We looked miles off it all over the pitch.

Some players on that list that can consider themselves very lucky to play some PL football, keep physically fit and earn very well at the club’s expense whilst not contributing anything near to what they draw out the club.
Nobody is going to buy them at the price the club would want to sell simply due to the fact that people have eyes and can see that they’re vastly overpriced and payed.

It would be interesting to know what our King of the Tatters, Mr. Stevie Bull, really thinks about the value and (re)usability of that pile of tat.

Well said.

Just to add the obvious questions about Tom King:
1. How on earth did we end up signing him? Tony Roberts´s mate but why? Just why?
2. How the **** is King still employed by us?

Just like that nonentity, Darren Ryan, who has left for an expat social and sporting club in the Middle East. About 14 years on a cushy number with us after being involved in about a dozen mainly Welsh and League 1/2 clubs in the previous years.

I conclude that Wolves FC is riddled with nonenties who got their far too secure jobs through mates.

Because it's a friendly hard to really say much, Nuno had us half-arse most of our friendlies as a fitness exercise and we were sharp by the time the season started. Meanwhile under O'Neil preseason results were good. Depends what Pereira's approach is, which I don't know.

First-half was alright, Joao Gomes was the best player on the pitch and oozed quality. Lens really went for him, very excessive for a friendly. Played some OK stuff, Strand Larsen's finishing really let him down but he got into decent positions. Hoever looked slower than I remembered him and he struggled with some of the basics.

After the rotations for the second-half, Lens looked far better and also fitter. They do have more depth and us which played out. Guedes took his goal nicely and was trying but a lot of play was amateurish, messed up simple things. Lima was disappointing, all the wing-back options are.

Go beyond the starting eleven (which itself has some major weak points) and there is barely an option off the bench. That's the main takeaway, and is alarming.

I also noticed last night how quiet we are on the pitch. Remember when we had Coady in the centre of defence and in these pre-season matches you used to hear his voice bellowing instructions around the ground? We didn’t have anyone vocal on the pitch, organising, taking responsibility last night. It was even mentioned on comms by Burrows & the awful Naylor. I get everyone’s different and I don’t expect Agbadou to suddenly turn into Conor Coady - but we were so sloppy defensively and seemed to lack basic organisation. Not helped of course by Dan Bentley letting anything remotely hit with some pace in to his goal.

Agbadou clearly doesn't want to be, or VP doesn't want him to be captain, with Toti and Doc being captains so far this pre season.

I know I bang on about this a lot, but captaincy is important, particularly in a side that's going to struggle.

We've seen it in a positive way with Coady and Semedo and also in a negative with Lemina and Johnson.

The way Joao plays I'd like him to be captain, but perhaps due to his speech issues it's not viable.

Bentz is absolutely shit. We need to get rid of Johnstone and sign a legitimate number 2, so Bentley can move back to his rightful position of number 3.
