Societal collapse?

I don't know what the answer is, here. Local authorities are going to have to take similar action to try and get hotels on their patch out of the immigration system. If they don't, they'll open their areas to accelerated civil unrest, guaranteed. I don't know how transferable to the Epping result is, but multiple LAs are putting statements out to say that they will be following.

But where the fuck do we put the asylum seekers?
is it a thing that private landlords are getting paid to host asylum seekers? Or is that internet nonsense?

I can’t believe how this has become such a huge issue. The hotels aren’t the solution obviously but apparently there are less refugees in hotels now than when Labour were elected? So why has it in the last few months felt like it’s the big issue of our time, it’s ridiculous and can only be xenophobia (not the I need to tell you this).

I don’t know what the answer is but creating safe routes and addressing the housing crisis better have got to be some of the main things, right?

Yep, not enough is done to shout loudly about these figures!

Hotel refugees have fallen significantly over the last couple of years, and net migration has halved since last year, and will halve again next year, why aren't Labour screaming about this at the top of their voices!?

The next thing to address is the backlog, around 7% are processed within 6 months, that's a really simple way to cut the numbers.

Labour won’t create anymore safe routes, like the last government they won’t do anything of note that will actually preserve life if it might look bad in the press.

Dealing with asylum is an international issue, European nations could come to an agreement to process asylum claims in any country with successful claimants dispersed to any safe country involved in a multi-national agreement. Asylum seekers can express a preference but can’t demand a particular country. This would put paid to much of the irregular entry because even if an asylum seeker did end up in the U.K. irregularly, there is no guarantee that is where they would remain.

Problem for Europe is their free movement agreement, they would have to implement an exemption for that in the case of refugees, at least for a time. Problem for the U.K., we would end up with more refugees than we currently have. Problem for asylum seekers, nobody cares about them.

I think its a bit of a runing theme that Labour dont really crow about the progress thats been made. I get that they're trying to push the 'steady/boring/managerial' angle after the chaos of the last 14 years, but a bit more self-promotion would cut reform off at the knees by showing that while Farage bangs on about problems, Labour are actually fixing them.

Serco run some of the hotels, the private landlords bit is or was mates of Tory ministers setting up as letting companies, getting a bung off the tories, buying houses and then getting paid a very good rate off the tories to house asylum seekers, like PPE but with a bit less money

Ugh yeah that's inevitable isn't it. Unless it gets in the way of the book deal etc

Out just in time to be draped in a flag and tell foreigners to fuck off, she’s going to be the poster girl for flag shaggers, she’s definitely going to be at this million plus protesters ( according to “patriots”) happening in London September 13th on the stage shouting at migrants.
Didn’t Tice or Lowe invite her to the House of Commons as a special honoured guest?
