Liam Dawson is a good stock bowler but he’s not going to win you games. Archer bowling is far to straight and not offering enough pressure.

That’s tea and that’s the game done I think, batting looks easy on this pitch against this bowling attack.
England need to skittle India in about 20 overs and try and chase down the deficit in about 10 overs.
India have batted well since lunch yesterday and England look clueless once the ball is more than 15 overs old.
Pitches like this don’t help the appeal of test cricket.

The pitch is a disgrace to be fair and I still think they’ve have had enough to bat out.
It’s offered nothing for the bowlers in the slightest.
Lancashire have a similar problem forcing results on this surface to.
over 1,300 and just 24 wickets so far isn’t a good battle between bat and ball averages a wicket every 56 runs again not great.
However 2 wickets in 5 sessions of cricket regardless of pitch is of serious concern for your bowlers.

We don't need to if we score 600+ again in fairness. But what they see in Overton I have no idea, and I never like having no spinner (Bethell does not count and nor does Root, although the latter is better by a distance)
