If they are not working on football where else are they going to be? Is it because they are having to do overtime on Monday so get the weekend off?
In London it's the numbers required, especially when thousands will be turning to queue and look at a coffin. Expecting protestors as well and of course will have to arrest anyone who says anything anti Royal.
Then those involved in Monday are needed over the weekend to rehearse.

Presume Greater Manchester Police are providing a high number of officers and the United game needs more than they can provide
If we were losing to Albion this weekend I guess our game would have been off.

If certain games have issues with policing why not move them behind closed doors? Not like we haven’t had a bit of practice at that shit.
Sporting integrity I would say. UEFA have had to ban Rangers fans travelling to Naples as no away fans allowed in Glasgow this week.
So behind closed doors for any game would require the reverse fixture to be the same. Guess the PL not keen to use a Royal death in the same manner as Covid.

London will be manic for at least the next week, people are already queuing to see the coffin 48 hours before it arrives so by the weekend it will be crazy

The first people are in the queue to view already, 50hrs before it opens, queues expected to be 5+ miles long

Who the fuck can stand for 50+ hours?? Toilets, fatigue, overnight etc, I mean have they got fucking tents?
The weather forecast isn't great either. Good God! If it was an open coffin, I could kind of get it.... but it's not.

Have heard that part of the issue is also that Sky News is planning such comprehensive coverage of the funeral on Monday (and its build-up) that they're borrowing cameras from Sky Sports, meaning that they couldn't broadcast games they've paid to broadcast...

Jeff and team better not be doing a Gillete Funeral Monday Special

Man in street shouts “ Prince Andrew is a nonce”
Jeff in studio “what’s happening Chris?
Cut to Chris Kamara standing on top of St Paul’s cathedral, “ I dunno Jeff I must have missed that, I saw the police escorting someone away, I thought they were bringing a sub on”

Unless they’ve taken a shit load of provisions and a portaloo how do they maintain themselves as being in the queue? I get pissed off at Thorpe Park when someone pushes through saying “I’m with them in front”

They get wristbands apparently so that they can leave and return to their place in the queue.

Having been down for the Jubilee in July and trying to cross Trafalgar Square and also watching the parade by Parliament its absolutely horrendous at times, unable to move and packed like sardines

i'm starting a campaign to have the song re-released with that bit included

Not getting called up by England though is he. Waddle was left stranded

Was this typical for how referees used to favour man United at the time? It always seemed like they did but this is so blatant
