The Football News Thread 2024/25

FA Cup Final will kick off at 4.30.

BBC wanted a 3pm kick off due to their planned programming for the evening.
ITV wanted 5.30 for the best viewing audience numbers.

Good to see all considerations included the fans and what was best for them 🙄

Who do people here think will get relegated in the Championship . One game left for all - squeaky bum time .

Luton and Derby have found form - Luton's goal difference could prove a problem for them yet . Cardiff and Plymouth relegated at this point .
Preston are on a terrible run and could easily go , as could Hull . Stoke as well .

Interesting at the very least .
Looks like the answer is Luton. 3-1 down with Hull winning

Portsmouth equalise against Hull, Luton 4-1 down and relegated as it stands

Confirmed Luton have done a Wolves.

Lost 5-3

Coventry and Bristol join Sheff Utd and Sunderland in the play offs

Leeds win the the title on GD. Impressive that 2 teams got 100 points

91st minute goal to win the title. Nice.

Shame Bristol didn’t cock it up. Coventry v Sheff Utd play off final you would think. Sunderland have lost their last 5 games.

On a tangent, so is celebrating a 1-0 defeat like a win
You've lost me here!

I did feel a bit weird celebrating after Blackburn 2011. I mean we lost (deservedly so) and we were absolutely abject for most of the game. Didn't run on the pitch as I'm not that stupid

He's moaning about Vítor getting the players together to 'celebrate' in front of the away fans last night.

Dont mind us celebrating/thanking the travelling fans even in a defeat, especially as we played pretty well and it was close. That doesn't seem small time to me, more shows a togetherness with team and supporters

Ah right. I didn't see the game, I was at the Symphony Hall.

Not something I'd do but fair enough to acknowledge the fans who bothered with what is a shite journey at a shite time and hey, I saw Klopp making his players "celebrate" drawing at home to Albion once.

Not sure I'd fancy watching his football every week but it's a fair old job John Eustace has done

You’re not wrong there, 2hrs45 to do the last 30 miles was soul destroying. Vitor doing the triple ole ole ole at the end was a bit odd though I thought.
I've not been there since the League Cup game under Nuno. Think I got home at 1.30am and @Kenny another half hour after that.

Horrible horrible ground to get away from.

Bristol City having a pitch invasion is comical, think it’s probably one of the lowest points totals ever to reach the play offs.
Whoever gets the last spot will do much do in such a short space of time.
