Everton fans pissed off that their new stadium will be known as the Hill Dickinson after the naming rights were sold
No relation to Bruce then

Had an idea about how to solve the 3 straight down conundrum in the PL.

So the three come up from the Championship. Whoever finishes highest out of those three the following season AUTOMATICALLY stays up. And the next worst team goes down if the highest promoted team happens to be 18th.

Would leave you with this with two to play:

Ipswich P36 Pts 22 GD -42
Leicester P36 Pts 22 GD -47

(Highest stays up and they play each other this weekend)

Wolves P36 Pts 41 GD -13
West Ham P36 Pts 40 GD -17
Man Utd P37 Pts 39 GD -12
Tottenham P37 Pts 38 GD +2

(Lowest goes down, Everton would have also been in the mix before last night)

It's highly artificial and to a point rewards failure which I don't generally like, but...

Not a bad idea. Obviously won’t happen.

If the same happens next year then probably something needs to be looked at, but realistically it probably only needs the parachute payments and PSR rules changing/removing without the need to drastically change promotion and relegation rules.

It's the gap that's worrying*.

Ipswich are 16 points behind a Spurs team who are shit but also stopped trying weeks ago. Luton were 10 behind Forest last season if the latter don't get deducted points.

They aren't even getting involved in a scrap.

*From a selfish point of view it works ok for us and our stupid model of running a club, but the world isn't all about Wolverhampton Wanderers

Not for me. Can't just let 3rd bottom automatically stay up.

A two-leg (or maybe just one game at Wembley) playoff between 3rd and 4th bottom would be better.

I think the PL is stacked with sides that would’ve come mid table easily 10 years ago. Liverpool aren’t even that good currently just a slight more extra depth.
What do I envisage maybe a few more seasons like this one ie new clubs win things and get into Europe but conversely the same 6-7 clubs rotate promotion and relegation between them.
Very good if you’re Brentford, Bournemouth, Fulham etc very bad if you’re a big club in the championship trying to break into the PL and stay there.
The PL when we came up in 2018 was a case of that everyone apart from the super six were about 3 peices of bad luck or decision making from going down.
Pyramid has to be fluid from top to bottom and not become like a closed shop scenario.

Seen a few people saying the hillbilly dicks stadium on twitter

Promoted teams and teams finishing in the bottom half have one season of PSR exemption? No idea if that would have an impact, or if it could potentially make the financial position of some teams more precarious, but it feels like these teams shouldn't be subject to the same rules as the teams that just seem to spend what they like with no ramifications (Chelsea and City I'm looking at you).

That's the gamble Forest took and it paid off, but you need an owner that will support it and it to work. You'd be in a world of pain if one or the other doesn't happen and if the regulator comes in it's the sort of thing they'd try to stop happening I'd imagine

Yeah, PSR shouldn't be painted as an evil. It needs tweaking but it's there because if you don't stop them, football clubs are like kids with a tin of Quality Street at Christmas. You'll eat the lot and you'll make yourself sick if I don't stop you.

I get there's an element of live by the sword, die by the sword and he was stupid to repost the Instagram thing he did and he needs to own that. All that said, this is disappointing

Lineker leaving the BBC after the last match of the day this season, WONT be doing World Cup coverage in the summer.
Gammons everywhere will be happy, until they realise he can tweet and say what he wants and they can’t demand the BBC sack him

I’ll go back to his Amol Rajan interview. It’s the folk that hate the BBC that complain about him. They’ll still hate the BBC when he’s gone but it’s the organisation itself that has to appease those who don’t want it to exist.

If a Reform MP retreated an anti semetic trope, the calls on them to stand down would be vociferous and justified.

I agree with Linekers position on Gaza, but he can't use ignorance as an excuse when he has so clearly taken a position. At best he was careless and with his profile, that carelessness has more impact.

He's not an MP though.
I tend to agree with much of his politics. However he's been dumb with this, I doubt he is anti semitic but ffs check the stuff you're reposting.
He was leaving soon anyway so don't suppose he's bothered, he'll just carry on with his podcast company and occasional TV appearances.

I imagine he'll post his views far more frequently now.
