The Manager Sacked/Hired Thread 2024/25

Last Sunday morning Damien Duff resigned as Manager of Shelbourne .

Duff was always box office and to be fair was very good for the League of Ireland . He raised its profile , not all by himself clearly , but by raising the standard of Shelbourne he brought another competitive Dublin team to the League alongside Rovers , Pats and Bohs .

He had the guts to take on the job rather than just resting on his laurels and enjoying his wealth .

Winning the League last year was a fair achievement and he got them into Europe twice as well during his time there . They have been poor enough this year and he clearly couldn't see any way forward .

Will be interesting to see what he does next .
Pretty self-indulgent to walk out on your club a week before their first Champions League game in 20yrs.
His rant about the players preparation after the Derry game was just odd. Probably lost the dressing room after that.

He always had far too much to say , which is grand when you're winning , but when the losing streak sets in it becomes a moan every week .

RVN was obviously a gamble for Leicester but he hadn't been that bad in his short time at man u, and maybe the thinking was that if they didn't hire him quickly then maybe we or Soton would have taken him.
Things might have turned out very different.

Would be good but there is talk of Dyche going there, could see that and think that's his neck of the woods too
Reports suggest Dyche is likely. As time goes by I think GO is going to have to lower his expectations if he wants another managerial job. I suspect he’s already regretting turning down interest from Millwalll.

Dyche or Rohl (me neither), supposedly.
