I think the fee for him is about €40M. He's clearly a good player but that would be a strange one given all of our other needs.

Talk at the end of the season was the Atletico deal was all but done. Probably more a bit of agent work to push that deal on.

I guess I’ll have to watch him for Betis because he was as terrible as he’s ever been for the US in the two friendlies prior to the Gold Cup. I mean, bad bad. The version of him that dresses for the US wouldn’t get in a Championship side.

I don't think you can ignore an area though at this level. We were unsure on why Andre was needed at the time, and given the performance of him and Gomes I'd rather have a high level CM replacement waiting here, than sell one of those two this time next year then be looking for someone. I know you can't have ready made replacements evrywhere but CM is such a key area I feel.

I meant the fee really. Even if 'the penny has dropped' it's a lot to be spending on a CM when we might need to sign 6 or 7 more players in this window. I agree that we need a new CM.
