The Summer 2025 Transfer Window Thread

Any Coady speculation should also consider whether or not he wants to be a squad player or playing every week. I could be wrong but I’d have thought the latter.
VP wants strong pacy defenders. Coady is neither so I cannot see it happening.

I like Vardy. I like his career story, his loyalty, and who doesn't love watching someone sprint clear and slot home a one-on-one. I quite like that he's a bit of a wum rather than the snorebots we see most of the time - give it out, take it, nod and a wink in appreciation at the end is the way football should be. The wagatha stuff doesn't reflect on his character at all for me, barely even registers. I'm sure he's not the nicest bloke in football, but the people who get wound up over his celebrations need to get a fucking life tbh.
Wholeheartedly agree with all of the above. He’s a character and it’s odd how people can moan that there’s “no characters left in the game” on one hand but then say they “hate Jamie Vardy because he’s a prick…” on the other. He’s the kind of player that you would love in your own shirt but hate when he plays against you.

I also agree with whoever it was that said they’d rather Vardy come off the bench after an hour if we need a goal than Hwang. But then my initial point much, much earlier today was I’d rather we signed Coady as a squad player, but then I wouldn’t cry if we got both and they were happy to be here as backups, as squad options, on wages that suited the club (this won’t happen though so it’s all hypothetical nonsense at this point).

When Vardy was scoring you'd put up with the celebrations I suppose , but he's not scoring freely any more and he's not getting any faster either .
I still don't like him - I don't really go with these ' ah sure he's a character ' .

If you want to celebrate in a certain fashion , then do in front of your own fans and run towards them - but lads going over inciting crowds annoys me no end - these are footballers who are paid massive sums of money every year laughing at fans who are struggling to keep buying a season ticket .

But those same fans were just singing that his wife’s a slag. Is he just supposed to put up with that ‘cos he earns a good wage? You must see the irony in that, surely?

Just a bit of panto isn't it. He likes winding people up, they like taunting him. As a footballer he is clearly finished at Prem level, that was in stark display on Saturday. If he goes to Wrexham or another Championship side, that may work well for him. Wouldn't say he suits what we need anyway you'd think, different kind of striker.

1 goal in his last 18 PL games and he's 39 halfway through next season, not sure in what world he's supposed to be a viable option.

You might as well say "let's bring Sako back, I'd rather watch him than Guedes". Except of course Bakary Sako wouldn't ask for £140k a week.

Surely there are a few home grown players around for sale at an affordable cost that don't need to be regular first team starters but also are not complete duffers and will do a job from the bench? Or am I bring too simplistic?(again)
Have the brownhill rumours not started yet…

Different player to JSL to. It’s a no from me.

If you’re looking at HG players, if tyrick Mitchell doesn’t sign a new deal for palace he’s one you could look at, especially if RAN is off.

Calvert Lewin is a free agent also, but he hasn’t really done much last 2 years - would rather him to Vardy though - low bar I’m aware

Is Cardoso any good? Can’t say I know much about him!

He play in Betis Balompie team.

He its similiar player Andre, play in the same position, but he made more direct and long passes. I think Cardoso have better vision and feet to made that long passes. I think its better on defense too.

He is playing a lot mins, on Betis 6º. Tottethams whant he, and have teams trying buy he: 35 mill.

That not is a good surprise, y don't like the teams buy old players, too expensive, no option to upgrade he and sell. Except if its one important positión and don't find good options.

One good team need sell players, all time, only big teams not need it.

Its important sell and archive a good financial situatión to create a strong youth academy. This is the key to success for teams like Real Sociedad, Athletic Bilbao, and Celta — veteran teams in the first division.

Parrot has been pretty good last two seasons (I know, Eredivisie) and done alright in Europe.

Don’t see how it could benefit him joining without guaranteed minutes when he’s developed well in the past couple of years playing regularly.

I guess if it happened (I don't believe it for a second) it'd be our low cost attempt at replacing Cunha. He isn't a #9
