The Summer 2025 Transfer Window Thread

A few other rumours I've seen in other places:

- Gabriel Sara, formerly of Norwich, currently at Galatasaray.
- Harvey Elliot
- Breno Bidon, central midfielder who I think might've played for Vítor at Corinthians

Harvey Elliot? As in bloke that starts for the PL Champions?

I’ll have some of whatever that reporter is smoking……

Most Liverpool fans I know think he's awful and has attitude problems, plus Slot doesn't trust him. Can't see it happening anyway as wages must be sky high.

I'd really quite like Elliot but not sure that 45m for him is the best use of the Cunha money. Unless we are doing some Jota style swapping.

With Elliot it's not just us that's linked with him it's basically every mid table to challenging for Europe Prem club which says to me that either he's told his agent he wants to move for game time or Liverpool are putting out feelers to shift him to help fund their summer business.

I wonder if he'll also ask for a release clause in there?

According to Transfermarkt we signed RAN from Angers for €11.1M. 50% sell on clause at €9M would be a €29.1M fee. Anything more than that and we're justified in buying out the transfer clause. In the Percy tweet he mentions that he's rated at £50M (€58.8M), if that's a number that he got from the club then that seems like the kind of range any release clause would be set at.

He's got a contract until 2026 but with an option to extend for a year in the club's favour so this summer seems like a good time to either renew or move on.

My understanding at the time was we bought him for £9m as we didn’t want to pay the £18m agreed fee at the end of the loan. But the stipulation of that was a 50% sell on, but we could buy that out for £9m at any point so Angers got their £18m one way or other. Seems heavily loaded our way in the negotiation as it was pretty much win-win but they must have been desperate for the money. £9m isn’t worth what it was and we should certainly be betting more than the €29.1m so buy it out.

The French TV rights deal had just gone caput I think.
