The Summer 2025 Transfer Window Thread

I see he has been mentioned above but I was openly a massive fan of Gibbs-White, but it felt like others couldn't help but want to hate him. So it feels odd to be clamouring for English players, when many couldn't wait to see the back of the one we most recently produced.
He's black, flashy and cocky. That's not proper English as far as they're concerned.

Can you blame him for leaving, can you blame him for cupping his ears. Twitter was a cesspit of a minority of Wolves fans slagging his girlfriend off, then when he did leave the abuse she got from the Wolves fans during games about his girlfriend was horrendous.
Yes... I can. I absolutely understand how he might feel being abused on social media but he's a professional footballer and he should not react like that to inflame the situation. His best answer is his performance on the pitch. Harry Kane and his wife have taken a lot of abuse as well and he's shown how to deal with it. I get MGW is young but inciting the crowd at a game is irresponsible. Giving him the benefit, he might have thought he was having some banter but it backfired enormously.

His stuck his fingers in his fucking ears, his girlfriend was called a slag constantly. Go figure dude.

I know right, dont blame him at all.

And i dont mind Wolves fans giving him stick either, that's football, but the toe curling when they get it back (from MGW or Vardy etc) is pathetic.

Th abuse directed at young black players is absolutely different to that directed at Kane, Gerrard, etc.
Is there any current examples, as Gerrard Kane being young players was before MGW and the world has turned since.

Not stating you’re wrong, for the record.just don’t think that’s a like for like comparison. Foden/Saka is. Are they treated differently?

Think I recall rice getting alot of stick, and some of it was regarding his mrs, but may be wrong?

I don’t really follow many other clubs so can jsut base it really on wolves, and can’t really draw a conclusion from us,

It's the reason he left not because Nuno wasn't playing him..
BTW I'm not stating he left on a racial thing but the abuse towards himself, his girlfriend even his family. And this is solely on Twitter as these young players use Twitter as a barometer in life.

On this - if it really is between us and Forest, seems a fairly straightforward decision for the lad. They have European football - we don’t. And there’s no chance he’s getting ahead of Andre/Joao here.

Can’t say I know much about him - assume he’s more of a defensive midfielder? 6 senior goals in over 200 appearances doesn’t fill me with much confidence…

Not sure about that necessarily, Shi's eyes lighting up at the 45million quid offer was the reason he left. But MGW saying yes was because he was fed up of the fans i'm sure.
But if the abuse factor wasn't there then maybe Morgan wouldn't have left Wolves so easy EP.

The best example I can give is Raheem Sterling tbh. For years as a young player hounded, and lots of false rumours about the amount of children he has at a young age etc..

Whereas Foden has a kid at 18 and you (rightly) wouldn’t have heard about it!

Rashford as well, dared to feed poor people during the pandemic basically so his every move is criticised.

Yeah, all fair points. I’d like to think society is moving away from that in certain parts.

I was trying to think of a white young footballer who’s heavily criticised out of proportion. Only ones who spring to mind was beckham after 98 as that was mad.

Also I wolves quarters Fabio, but he brings a lot on himself.

Personally never really had an issue with MGW, and didn’t have an issue with the ear cupping. Did he need to do it? No. Was it a big deal? Again no

Prefer that to they ‘I once played for you so I won’t celebrate out of respect’ bollocks
