The Summer 2025 Transfer Window Thread

It's possible we've agreed to keep paying him until he decides. Think I've heard that happening before.

To show him how keen we are to keep him.
As a reward for years of service.
So he can keep training or using facilities.

It's only a month's wages maximum.
About 400k then...

So if this is true he hasn't officially left yet.

Regardless, it has been a poorly managed situation that is trundling on without conclusion.

Maybe he decided to stay a while ago and the media team are just waiting for him to report back for the new season so they can film something?

Not a lot we can do at this stage and I will be staggered if Jeff popped him on a rolling deal.

The poorly managed bit comes from another flip in policy.
Up to at least December 2024, Nelson was leaving. No new deal even being considered. Vitor gets handed his transfer policy power around Feb/March time and he wants him to stay, so contract offer made.

We know his contract expired. We don't know if anything is in place to tide it over. Without it, he isn't our player any more, but like you say, nobody knows.

I don't get why people are being awkward towards EP. His point is clear. Wolves haven't officially announced one way or another what's going on with Semedo - and the fact we haven't asked him for a final decision at this point is ludicrous.

It's a good job we're quick at signing readymade replacements should we need to act fast though :RollingEyesEmoji:

Nothing official to report though is there

Contract ended
Announced we have offered him a new deal
He hasn't accepted or rejected it
Officially no longer our player
Offer still there for him
We will continue to possibly think about looking at talking to people about maybe signing a replacement

They should have had a final decision from him by now (they should have had one when the season ended so everyone knew where they stood going in to the summer IMO - but I appreciate others have a different view on this) - then an announcement would have been made accordingly instead of this ridiculous scenario we find ourselves in. That's the point.

Nelson can take as long as he wants/needs. His career and life and we can't force him to accept or reject to fit our requirements or deadlines.

No answer, we carry on as normal. My presumption is we have probably accepted its a no.
