We are having an absolute cracker of a window, fair play.

Annoying but we are screwed when the big boys come in. See Newcastle and about 6 of their top targets so far as an example of that elsewhere.

It’s a job, and it’s also not at all noteworthy that a player would prefer the third biggest club in Spain over us. It would be weird of he didn’t prefer Atlético.

Obviously you’ve got people leaping to the defence of the club (such a weird stance when we are an absolute clown show, but is what it is) - but he didn’t seem like he wanted to come here from the initial day our interest broke and it always seemed like he was holding out for something better. Got his wish in the end with the interest from Milan and ultimately, Atletico Madrid.

But once again, it’s us who look like the laughing stock and once again, we’re left to rifle down our list of targets as the season creeps closer and closer.

Those defending the club now are the same people who were defending us for letting Nels do whatever the hell he wanted for the sake of “loyalty”. The same Nels who dragged things out as long as humanly possible until Vítor finally decided enough is enough and told us to get on and sign someone. As I said weeks ago, we should have set a date for a final decision from Semedo by the end of the season/start of the window so everyone knew exactly where we stood. We could have secured Pubill weeks ago if he was our top target (or been beaten to his signing by someone else) - but at least we’d have known where we were and would have moved on already.

On this signing yep shit happens, however I agree that if a player is unsure on coming then you definitely should have other options lined up.
Just 24 days until kick off and we’re still way short of what’s needed.

I want us to sign good players, unfortunately so do lots of other clubs. I'd love Wolves to be the first choice for every player we try and sign, the unfortunate reality is that's rarely going to be the case in the pool we compete in. I don't like it, but what you going g to do?

I'm not blaming the player (although fuck him and his career ), I care about my club and you could smell that he probably wasn't keen even from a few journo sound bites.

As DW says, the club better have a plan B ready to rev up, or this is a bit of a shitshow

I wouldn't say it's made us a laughing stock. There's only about 10,000 people in the world that knew and gave a fuck, and 9,962 of them had never heard of him a month ago
