The Summer 2025 Transfer Window Thread

Love how we're happy to let RAN go for bare minimum but it has be a bonkers bid for the Crown Jewel. Make it make sense
Easy peasy. Right at the heart of the pitch for talented young players we're trying to bring in is that the club will not stand in their way when an elite club come knocking if they do their bit in the meantime. Fabio... hasn't.

I honestly think we've got this all wrong and the negotiation is about how much we are paying these clubs to take him off us. It's the only logical answer

I get the whole thing of taking the high earners and removing them from the club ( Cunha , Guedes , Silva , Sarabia , Semedo ) . That's not a bad business decision at all - particularly when some on that list were not putting the effort in or were causing trouble in other ways .

If we get 3/4 new players in ( loan/buy ) , then I can live with that . If we assume that they will be decent players , but command more acceptable wages , then that is a model I can live it and understand .

I don't believe I could cope with the emotional trauma of Fabio still being a Wolves player at the end of this transfer window.

If Jeff fucks this up I'm done!!!!

From that tweet it isn't Jeff who is currently fucking it up

Unfortunately, we are likely going to end up with a larger squad of Forbes-like signings. Shopping at Temu instead of Matalan we are...
Many things on Temu are much smaller than expected so given VPs desire for big, strong players this will end badly.

If Wolves value Fabio at 25-30 million, how much are we looking to spend for a Strand-Larson backup?

I don't think what we sell has any relation to what we're going to spend, so we shouldn't get too excited about any sale, whether it's for a player we want to keep or not

The stuff about Teti 'refusing to sit down' is probably what was reported earlier in the window where we had apparently asked Gestifute to negotiate with clubs on our behalf.

I'm happy for that to continue as long as possible to be honest. It sounds like there are a lot of clubs interested, someone will pay enough eventually. If they don't then Silva can rot.

Let Wolves concentrate on what actually matters to our long term future, bringing in players who actually want to play for us.

I’d be more optimistic if this wasn’t preceded by the last few years.

Getting rid of high earners, especially unwanted players (Guedes, Fabio) should allow alot more space in the finances to bring in new blood and try and push the club on abit. No one wants to keep players on high wages who barely contribute. To be fair to the club they have done well in that regards

I still worry though that it won’t lead to the required signings though, the squad is still unbalanced/threadbare

But if a trolly dash last week of window

Let hope next couple of weeks we don’t get a big injury as well!

If you set an asking price and clubs aren't coming near that or are asking to meet to discuss terms that are no where near your starting point, then I have no issues with the refusal.

Especially given their does seem to be a decent enough market there for him to wait it out if everyone is trying to lowball. issue is if we do too much hardball and get stuck with him.

Too much being read into the reduction of the wage bill, clearing the decks of dross, in the anticipation of a raft of new signings just over the horizon.

This window is purely a win for accounting purposes only to date.

Aren’t there upcoming changes to PSR that require a certain wages-to-turnover ratio to be adhered to?
