The Summer 2025 Transfer Window Thread

It's expected that Nigeria's population will double from 200m in the next 25 years. Think of those shirt sales, from a customer base that doesn't even exist yet. Some forward planning, that.

More than that i think.

Starts 21st December. I think its 10 days before the start we have to release players. So probably ruling group stage players out for

Arsenal, Brentford, Liverpool, Man Utd, West Ham games

They go further in the comp

Everton, FA Cup.

Get to the Final

Newcastle and potentially Man City.

Obviously not all will progress but the start is a hefty chunk of games over the busiest period of the season.
ok , fair enough , I was counting from January onwards .

TBF if we were Nigerian owned and had one or two decent players then the shirt sales would be huge. Arsenal are still living off Kanu in west africa.

Getafe and Wolverhampton share distinctive ring road developments close to the stadium, and (serious podcast voice) I think that could be decisive. Ours project is aesthetically ahead.

Have I missed something regarding this Nigerian ownership? Have we been linked or is this a running joke that’s escaped me?

A random X link saying a Nigerian businessman, Aliko Dangote, was interested in buying Wolves

Previously linked with Arsenal (he is an Arsenal fan) but backed out as he needed his money for a project in Nigeria.
Apparently was happy to pay £2bn to buy them but now feels they are too expensive.

We, the fine folk of TWF, will of course drag every joke out of the link.

You forgot to mention that his Wiki page was changed to say he owned us too 👍

I do wonder if Jeff will part with his beloved E-Sports though...

I heard one of the reasons Dangote chose Wolves as an alternative to Arsenal is because he sees the potential in e-sports, and would keep Jeff on to develop that.

What are his thoughts on (failed) music labels?

What would happen with the e sports wolves branding if we are taken over, would the new owner licence it out for a fee, or would they have to rebrand? Knowing our luck it’s probably in a contract somewhere that the esports owns the wolves branding and we’d have to use something else
