The Summer 2025 Transfer Window Thread

. The fact he has had no jobs since Narwich demonstrates that he has been found out as nothing more than a financial accountant.
The Moxster has had jobs since Norwich. Involved at Burton and part of a company that sorts out buying/selling of sports clubs.

Maybe Jeff should give him a call.

Shi's comments about the club to the fans have been far worse than Moxey. From the extreme of saying we will emulate Man City, to saying if you want success then Wolves aren't for you. :ROFLMAO:

One of the really annoying things about the transfer deadline date itself is that it arrives after 3/4 matches have been played . Managers are then having to deal with players who might or might not be leaving , but who have agents whispering in their ear for the entire month of August about offers / potential offers .
You might think that players should be more mature and should make up their mid quicker , and also continue to play to their potential for their existing club until the move - most of them do to be fair , but it must be distracting if they are unsure . You then have the players who try and force a move and down tools .
These players are somewhere between 22 - 28 years old usually and simply do not have the maturity in a lot of cases to avoid being manipulated . The money on offer is huge as well - telephone numbers in a lot of cases .
It is very distracting / frustrating for both Managers and for the players at a club who are not moving .
They must all be waiting with bated breath for 1st September - and then you can look around and see what players you actually do have and ask for commitment - until the next transfer window .

There were a lot of comments here at the weekend about how poorly he played in his most recent match for Girona .

Any comments on his previous 20 or so matches for the same club ?? Surely they are as equally relevant . Why focus on one match .

There were more than a few matches last season where Cunha left a very poor impression - but only a fool would judge him on one match . It's the same with every player - judge them over a season .

I think we should wait until he's retired before judging him, personally

On the whole football fans will judge on the now.

Jonny was written off after his his first pre season game.
Raul was called a dud after playing 20 mins as a left back for 10 man Mexico
Jose was an exciting signing after scoring 2 goals in his final game before joining us.

My worry is not so much is he good enough, plenty of reports to say he is but that requirement of hitting the ground running. We need players to have an instant impact

Of course it could be a dud, but being linked with a CB who at least offers hope of change is way better than nothing. Very much an area we need to improve, along with, well, all the others areas (apart from CM, where apparently our duo is better than Neves and Moutinho. Yep, people said that. Incredible).

Another one that no one has ever heard of, but we desperately need to sign him because he’s fucking brilliant.
At this stage I think The List should be a mandatory pop up everytime anyone logs back into the forum.

Rom still saying this is happening

I'm guessing they're seeing him as filling 2 roles (CB, CM) so with Uche will be their last signings of the window except for any home grown filler specials.

On the one hand, won't be the worst summer window we've had...but may still be the one that leaves the club well short and relegated.

They left themselves needing quality and quantity this summer, so far the latter has been bare minimum so far, the former is what I'm most worried about. We can't afford them all or most of them to be underwhelming, or we're in trouble.

Too early to tell much on that front, although no one has really stood out tbh after the first couple of games

I don’t want to jump from issue to issue, because we need bodies through the door and it looks like we’ll at least get two more, but it’s disappointing that we’ve done absolutely no incoming business on the homegrown front at all.

No idea what the numbers are looking like from a HG perspective and who qualifies etc.

Uche another AFCON absentee too, so that's four from our first XI, so need to ensure understudies are up to it.

Hopefully Mosquera and Lopez are up to speed by then, and we'll just have to make do with Hoever for a few weeks

He's an utter bell end (he actually seems like a decent guy off the pitch) but someone like grealish could have come here and hit the ground running.
