Verdict: Sunderland 2 Wolves 0

Told you so is really helpful right now.

Everyone knows we are a basket case club, it’s just some like to have a little hope.
What do you want me to do? I’m 57, knees fucked, I’m hardly likely to be signed and out score bully to keep us up

Soulless is where we are.

The likes of Neves, Boly, Moutinho and Jota were never going to be Wolves lifers. But they were Wolves players.

Absolutely none of these are. You fall into one of three categories:

1) Good, and we'll sell you as soon as we get a good bid. Or in the case of Ait-Nouri, when we don't even receive a good bid. So who cares

2) Shite we signed at a hefty fee that fails. Go away, you're a disaster

3) Cheap shite we signed and hoped turned out OK. Like me buying a £1 phone charger off Temu

Astronomical ticket prices and continual arrogant management of the club from our esteemed chairman, because he knows best.

We stink more than Lou Sanders. We need a reset and we probably need relegation. Which is a ridiculous state of affairs.

Oh and Vitor goes if we don't win next week, and I don't think we will.

André and Gomes are the best of the bunch but they lack creativity. There’s not one player that is likely to get you out of your seat. Graft and hard work can only get you so far against even sides like Sunderland. Last year we had Cunha and RAN sprinkling a bit of stardust with Sarabia chipping in occasionally. Now there’s nothing.

I’ve had a couple of cheap charging leads off Temu and they’re both better value than Wolfe and Tchatchoua!

People mentioning not really giving a crap about any/many players - I thought to myself the other day "who is my favourite player?". And realised the answer is none. I think Gomes and Andre are quality and could see me liking Tolu as time goes. But I literally don't have a favourite. Sad times

I never had a favourite under Nuno but for exactly the opposite reason, I loved so many of them. Jonny was the best full back I’ve seen in over 50 years, Boly was imperious, Coady was the embodiment of everything that was good about the club, Neves was brilliant, Moutinho 5’7” of football Heaven, Raul and Jota simply wonderful. God I’m depressed just thinking how far we’ve fallen.

Hoever came on because Doc is shit, lazy and unfit. It’s on VP for picking him in the first place though.
Was I right when I thought that the typically shit commentator said that Doherty passed on the Captain's armband?

WTF.

He is never a captain in a thousand years. There was no leadership on the pitch and he skulked off after being responsible for their disallowed goal, their goal and the header to the post.

This lot need leadership not some callow, wishy washy, supine stuff from the worst player on the pitch!!

Blame our fraud of an ex-DoF for signing someone when he met them on a golf course.

Matt Doherty was an awful League One RB in 2013, 12 years ago and we're playing him there in the Premier League in late 2025. Ahead of someone we just paid £10m or so for.

It's a mess.

Spot on. We miss RAN so much.

Vitor is taking the pics openly taunting fans by starting with Doherty and replacing him with Hoever. His press conferences are rooted in Narnia. He benefitted hugely from not being Gary O'Neil but he is out of his depth.

How much of our transfer budget is sitting on the bench or just not performing? Pretty much all of it bar Krecji who should have been pushed into midfield as he was the only player who looked capable of passing forwards.

We should have scored. We didn't. But that wasn't a surprise, it's a habit.

There is no way Vitor should still be in post on the basis as results at the end of last season and the beginning of this. His position shouldn't even be at risk...he should be out.

We're just not good enough. Nowhere near. The new signings, brought in to replace Premier League quality players simply are not Premier League quality players.

I don't doubt their efforts, but I do doubt their ability.

We've been stripped of assets by people who clearly have no clue about football, and as a result we're nailed on for relegation.

It's going to be a very tough watch for the next few months.

In January Fosun are going to have the choice of an expensive scramble for any decent attacking talent or just managing the decline and making money from it. Can probably guess which it'll be.

From the BBC gossip page today.

Wolves are not expected to make any major signings in January and likely to hang on to their key players, including Brazilian midfielder Andre, 24, who was a target for Juventus last summer. (Mail - subscription required)

There’s no hope.

Welcome to the dark side

It says a lot that I don’t feel particularly bothered about today’s defeat. I’ve lost all hope and excitement for Wolves.

I’m pleased for my Dad and Sunderland though.

Wolves being relegated, gutted and then struggling next year still wouldn't be enough of a wake up call for Jeff and co to realise they got lucky with Nuno is my worry.
he's basically dismissed those high quality Nuno years as us being a bit lucky, so what hope is there. given all the advantages Premier league clubs have it's hard not to wonder at how we've ended up where we are. It feels more like looking into the abyss than managed decline at the moment. i appreciate we've been in a lot worse positions, but not from such a strong starting point.
