WBA 1-1 Wolves: Verdict Thread

Yes, he also has problems with exhaustion amongst others.

It's worrying - I've had exactly the same conditions after I caught COVID last Feb with no sign of it going away over a year later. At least he will get excellent medical attention.
It might be one of those occasions where sportsmen like Boly having the condition mean more research goes into it, the cure / mitigation may well be found faster.

Myles Garrett who plays in the NFL had long Covid and didn't play at his usual level from when he got it in November to the end of his season in Jan, don't know at what point he fully recovered. He put him being badly affected down to having asthma

I'm sure it will come as great comfort to them on a November Tuesday night in Peterborough

Seen a few of them going on about "25 years". That's nice, dear. Less impressive when you realise we've not played there in 14 of those 25 years but whatever makes you happy.

Also a couple oddly raging at Mike Dean. I can't think of a single decision that he gave in our favour that was even remotely debatable. He did however stop us having two clear breaks for no reason and gave at least two phantom fouls against Neves. Also took him an age to book anyone for chopping down Adama.

The Count of Monte Bisto speaks:

I can't believe we haven't won or taken the chances we created. I'm very sad for the players they haven't converted this game into a victory.

"You look at Wolves' goal and say 'why can't we get a bit of luck like that?'"

I'll give you luck, you corpulent twat.

Your player jumping into our player outside the box = penalty, apparently.

And we had how many chances in that game?

Make sure you update that CV next week, eh.

He won the ball in some good positions and used the ball pretty well in awful conditions. Was his quick pass that Dean pulled back too?

I hope he gets some chances in final four games

In other news Joe Edwards gave Vitinha a 7, he also gave lots of other players a 7.
Not sure how he gets paid for this!

Not only are the ratings not particularly accurate (numbers are always arbitrary, may as well not bother with them), but that's a piece that wouldn't take five minutes to write. Seriously, no exaggerating for effect. And yet it didn't come out until this morning:

Either put that out inside half an hour of full time as a snap judgement or write properly for the next day.

Never sure on this "RAN is dodgy defensively" narrative either, he had a poor game away at Leicester but otherwise he's looked pretty good in that respect as far as I remember. The biggest issue was that until 3-4 games ago he looked a bit hesitant going forward, he'd kind of make the ground into attacking areas then do nothing other than play a five yard ball inside. He's picking up confidence now though by the week and breezing past players.

Not sure on what formation we'd use but I'd love to see him and Vitinha get more time to link up. Both quick thinkers with quick feet - both did really well at snapping into tackles too.

Should have had an assist too if not for Mike 'look at me' Dean.

Think it was pointed out last night (sorry, can't remember who said it and I'm not going back to look) but he certainly seems to have shown more intensity in his recent sub appearances. He can't get away with just drifting through games like he did at Academy level, he's got to be more dynamic. Not only did he get stuck in last night but he also used the ball well whenever he got it, in shocking conditions too.

Were the phantom fouls, where Neves got to the ball first and played the ball off the player who then went down with no physical contact, plus the one where the Albion player tripped over a deep puddle? Neither looked like fouls at full speed watching on a 8" screen, never mind up close

Yep. Second one where Podence gave the ball away for the 674th time since he came back into the team which was terrible and had Nuno raging, but there was no foul whatsoever. Neves went nowhere near him.

Could have sworn I heard the Liquidator being played at half time? Thought it was banned regardless of there being fans or not?

The Bennies make me laugh.
Took them 40 years to catch us up with Nicknames after we called them after a soap character in Crossroads.

Now they are delighted to be relegated having not lost to us.

Well Bennies the name never suited you more because I would rather lose to you than be relegated.
We will be pushing for Europe again next season, you will be playing in the Championship.
Enjoy your trips to Peterbrough, Stoke, you can beat off over not losing to us.
