The government passed over 171 candidates to pick a Bullingdon Club "chum" of Boris Johnson's to sit on a sleaze watchdog, ministers have admitted.

Ewen Fergusson, a member of Oxford’s infamous dining club at the same time as the prime minister, was handed the role last month – a decision branded "pathetic" by the committee's former chair.

In an answer to a written parliamentary question from Labour, Cabinet Office minister Chloe Smith said the government had received 173 applications for the two vacancies on the committee.

He's refused to apologise for those Thatcher/coal comments. Apologising is for other people.

He's also refusing to isolate despite someone within his team that travelled to Scotland testing positive for Covid, and his twat Government have spent £163k on Union flags since he became PM (add that to the £2.6m on the media briefing room with massive flags that they now will never use properly, because they don't fancy answering questions after all)

Compared to his Climate Change Minister who goes from red list country to red list country by plane, not isolating and then visiting primary schools, it's a drop in the ocean
 
Genuinely on track to be the worst PM we've ever had. History will remember him for Brexit, fucking up our Covid response and probably overseeing the break up of the UK. We're fucked if he gets in again, god knows what other catastrophes he's got up his sleeve.
 
I don't think he'll run again, this is too much like hard work and he'd much rather write shit books/columns and make deeply unfunny speeches for more money than he makes as PM. He'll be 60 by the time this term is due to end. Fairly likely given his track record he'll have another divorce to pay for by then.

I'd say this is a good thing but there are no grown ups left to take over from him, he and Megamind Dom got rid of the few they had.

She disappears for months on end, she did during the first Covid lockdown after a car crash press conference. When you govern by populist soundbites you don't need to be overly visible.

She was laughing in the background when Johnson couldn't open an umbrella last week
 
Raab seems to have completely vanished (not upset by this) - haven't seen or heard from him for months
