Got back from Turkey a couple of weeks ago, after a 7 night trip over the Easter holidays with the family. We stayed at the Royal Garden Beach hotel in Antalya area (see here:

I’d say we’ve stayed in nicer hotels. The room was a little dated and we’ve definitely been to hotels with much better food - but for what we paid (nearly half the price of what we normally go for) I can’t complain. Weather was lovely during the day, little chilly in the evening - so rather than sit outside to watch the entertainment, we tended to spend most evenings in the piano bar playing games.
Pick of the trip was a day visit to Alanya. We had some superb food in a restaurant called ‘Elite Restaurant’ (I know, cracking name eh?) which was opposite the cable car station. We then took the cable cars up to the top of the mountain to Alanya Castle which gives you an amazing view of the Cleopatra beaches & coastline. The castle itself was excellent to walk around. It’s quite a steep climb though, so for April the weather was fine - I can imagine in the height of summer it would be exhausting/hot!
I’d highly recommend if anyone is off on holiday to Antalya area to give it a go (

That’s it as far as going abroad with the family this year goes. We’ve agreed to spend two weeks this summer at the in-laws in Scotland & will be travelling around a bit to see some of the country. Not expecting to come back from that holiday with a tan…
