Best holiday destinations

I suppose it would depend upon when the charge is considered crystallised. Logically it would be when the baggage is taken on board, rather than when the plane arrives and it is taken off. So you would think they could charge for flights out of the UK but be barred from doing so on the flight back in.

Alternatively, British airlines would probably argue that they were subject to British law and therefore charge both ways. If that were the case it would raise an interesting conundrum with Ryanair, depending upon where their registered office is for purposes of being domiciled. Aren't they still considered an Irish company (which has big Corporation Tax benefits) so would be on a cleft stick with not being allowed to charge?

We left the EU, so will it still apply to Britons?

The UK is no longer a member of the EU, but it will still impact British passengers, as it will apply to EU-based airlines, including Ryanair, easyJet and Wizz Air.

I found Ryanair to Dunlin fine, it's certainly no worse than catching the train to Birmingham.

I’ve only flown Ryanair a couple of times but have had better experiences with them than with easyJet, who I find terrible!

They're both (obviously) budget airlines and generally EasyJet are ok IME. I used to fly LBA to Dublin in the early noughties and Ryanair were much better than the Aer Lingus regular flights. The days of the £1 airfares!

I just get on whichever airline takes you to wherever it is you want to go, and on short haul especially that’s always the cheapest.

Bit different on long haul where I’d pay a little extra if necessary to minimise the number of stops and plane changes etc but that’s about it.

Never really understood the airline loyalty thing or the desire to upgrade at astronomical cost, and besides, the back of the plane always gets in the same time as the front.

Airline loyalty has paid for our family summer holiday to the US so there is that.
