With Djiga being 21 and a relative baby for a CB there may be a time.when he comes good after a good loan or two. It remains a bad signing for the time though at the price and what we thought we needed.

It seems to me that £12m (Djiga’s price, IIRC) is more or less the bare minimum that could be paid for a young player that is thought of as potential PL quality.

Whether or not that’s where the £12m should have gone in that moment is another question.
