Brighton (H) 05/10/25 - Build up & Match day thread

Your kinda contradicting yourself with this particular part.

It's an own goal the ball isn't going in after it hits the bar it's clearing the six yard box until it hits the keeper (a second time so not even the same action) and goes in.
Not contradicting myself at all. I think it's dumb that it's an own goal. But I'm from Canada, so that has a lot to do with it with hockey. Though I could honestly see that goal being given in MLS too.

You said he saved it. Therefore if he saved the shot it can't be Munetsi's goal. The very essence of a goalkeeper "saving" a shot means it can't be a goal.

I still don't get why Santi hasn't been more permanent. He's very good in comparison with what we've had the past couple years.

A little slow, but that's it.

Tchatchoua is fucking rubbish. Positionally bad, not knowing when to overlap, poor on the ball, rubbish at crossing, prone to brain farts in dangerous areas. The downgrade from Semedo to him is alarming.

But aside from that, we look a bit better since the goal - a bit of confidence maybe coming back?

Call him S’mores because that goal was a cracker from Marshmallow

I explained myself. You're not going to change my mind in this instance because we come from different cultures.

I'd much have preferred someone like Alistair Johnston. Doesn't offer the same speed, but still quick. Much more of a bulldog though and just as good offensively.

He looks a lot better in a back four then a back three strangely.
Like so many of our players in the last four-ish seasons, I think he’s been put in positions (i.e, asked to do things) that accentuated his flaws and minimized his strengths.

IMO he knows he’s slow and for whatever reason he’s now playing in a way that helps keep him from getting caught out by it.

Supposition from this distance, of course.
