Burnley (A) 15/7 Build-Up & Matchday Thread

We just can’t give away an early goal like this season at Molineux and last season at Turf Moor.

We weren’t great at their place last year but we were certainly better than them. Unfortunately giving them an awful goal from an early set piece plays right into their hands.

If they score a good goal then fair enough, but as long as we don’t give them something sloppy to hold on to then the “xG” should see us win.

Yeah, that was such a farce of a goal after a minute of the game. Poor all round by compounded by Coady putting it into his own net when Wood had managed to missing initially :icon_lol:

We weren't great in that game but once they were ahead all they had to do was make it difficult to create. Doherty and Jimenez didn't start that game due to internationals I think. Cav missed a bit of a sitter I think. Wasn't a fun game to be sat in the home end for that is for sure.

Nothing about Burnley is fun. I hate Turf Moor so much. Never going there again.

Genuinely loved this game - great day out and we went top. Thought it was the start of a new era.

Because old people are stupid and can't deal with the news not being on at 6pm on BBC One despite EVERYONE WHO OWNS A TV being able to access BBC News which has the exact same programme at the exact same time, we're split over two channels.

The lack of Wimbledon this year means this phenomenon hasn't annoyed me as much as it generally does on an annual basis.

Or the BBC could have just left the game on BBC2 for the whole game.
Why call out old people as stupid when it's not their fault. You're just being a knob.

Old people voted for Brexit, they are stupid.

Why does the news have to be on BBC One?

Your first sentence is totally irrelevant.

Because of the agreement between BBC and ITV over the scheduling of the main news.

1pm BBC1
1:30pm ITV1

6pm BBC1
6:30pm ITV1

10:00pm both BBC1 and ITV1

I knew this even though I am 'old'. Perhaps it's you that is stupid, but I wouldn't say that because I'm too polite.

I honestly don't care what you think of me. I do know you voted for Brexit so you can guess on my opinion of you.

I do think it's archaic that in 2020 we abide by 1970s regulations. If people really must watch the news at 6pm and 6pm only, then there is a channel for that.

I am surprised at your boorish attitude, I thought you were better than that.

I agree with your second sentence, but the fault lies with the TV companies, not the viewers.

You're the one piling in here calling someone a "knob", mate.

If the demand wasn't there then they wouldn't keep doing it. I wonder where that demand comes from.

Wow! Calm down lads its pressing a button twice on a remote hardly a massive inconvenience is it, certainly not worth arguing over.

Sorry for the delay in replying, I was watching the BBC News at 1.

You started it by calling old people 'stupid'.

The demand comes from TV company marketing from the '70s and the out-of-touch BBC hierarchy wanting 'prime spot' instead of 'new boys' ITV.

I repeat, why can't the BBC just show the whole match on BBC2? The program scheduled for 7pm-8pm is pre-recorded so could have been shown at a later date.

Going to presume that it is something daft like wanting the big viewing figures on their main channel, even if it is split. Can't think of any other reason why they need to swap at HT.

Good comeback in fairness.

Ok, a lot of old people are stupid. And yes, if they're starting it on BBC Two then they should keep it there, but the reason why it's there in the first place is archaic.

Its much harder nowadays though.

Old days press number 2 then 45 mins later press 1

Now, if you use Sky you are having to press 1 0 2 then 1 1 5 That is 6 (SIX) button presses unless you have programmed them in to the quick buttons.

Who has the time and desire to press 6 buttons these days...

One channel up or down if your not too fussed about HD.

I want to see Moutinho in full HD. Channel 101 is dead to me...
