Ever changing face of Wolves

Not been a regular drinker pre-match for a few seasons now. But when we do we tend to go out of town to the likes of Chapel Ash.

Read the above the other day & found it really depressing. Then you see how challenging it is for some other locations, like Woking & you see what a challenge reinventing a town/city centre is.

That's the trouble. Wolverhampton city centre definitely has a whole load of problems, but hatchet jobs from the Guess and Stir really don't help - they encourage people to go elsewhere even more.

As you say, there's nothing special about the issues - it's not as if it's only Wolverhampton after all.

And the tendancy to blame "the council" for everything doesn't help - they have no say on the levels set for rents in the Mander Centre for example. There's a lot of sticks to beat them with, but picking ones they can't do anything about is just crazy.

You've got the opportunity for free publicity for your new bar, how do they choose to use it? "We’ve got a Westlife tribute band"

They fought off stiff opposition from the Robin 2 to get them booked I'll have you know.

You could probably get the real Bryan McFadden for less money now.

I'll have you know some decent talent in Robin 2 in next few months. Bez and Clint Boon, Shaun Ryder and Republica...

He’s probably right tbh, department stores went out of fashion about 30 years ago, and it’s not the councils fault Debenhams disappeared as a business altogether, no matter how much the E&S would like it to be.
The council are trying to sort something out, make Wolverhampton centre better, it takes time and hopefully they’ll turn it round and gat it busy again

Just been into town, completely dead, very few people about, walked from the bus station to big Sainsbury’s for an interview, looks like Ron Flowers shop has gone as well, empty shop where it used to be.

I walked into Burton town centre a few weeks ago on a Saturday mid-morning. It was surprisingly dead then too, certainly from how I used to remember it.

What's your interview for Keefy?
(You do work hard at this!)

online delivery driver for Sainsbury’s (at least they turned up for this one, didn’t for the last one)
I’ve an interview for decathlon as a bike technician tomorrow.
Sainsbury’s is closer, would have better benefits I think, bar the early start for 6am deliveries, and the late finishes delivering up to 11pm
Would prefer the decathlon job, get the old brain working again on how to fix random broken bikes

How far away from home are they?
Salaries? Enough to favour the further journey? ***
Rate them on a happiness scale of 10.
*** Didn't want to know the actual salary, kind of Happiness (Satisfaction) vs Travel vs recompence.

Sainsburys properly micro manage the home shop drivers FYI.

Black boxes in the vans recording everything abd drivers routinely pulled in the office for 'speeding' 'breaking too sharply' etc etc I don't know if you've experienced this in other driving jobs but worth keeping it in mind.

Sainsbury’s is about a 20min bike ride, decathlon 30-40.
Salaries are both a whopping £10.42ph, both full time.
The thing that sort of puts me off decathlon is they push the team building socialising thing a lot, I don’t want to spend my free time with work colleagues, they’re work colleagues, I want to get away from them in my free time, and do my own thing, even if it’s just being miserable on a football forum.

The thing both of them make a big deal about is the extra days holiday on your birthday, yea great, how’s that work for leap year birthdays? Do I get an extra day in February or March, last time I asked at a job that did it, got told no it’s not your birthday
