Farage Ltd and Similar Watch

Is this the same partner who Farage forgot had bought a house in Clacton for him, then remembered she had bought it because he would pay less tax, but it turned out she couldn't have bought it because she doesn't have any money? That partner?

I’m probably less critical than others and have lower expectations of morality when there’s some bending of the rules to the point they creak as long as things stay legal, but I’m struggling to work this one out.

Looks to me like people are barking up the wrong tree with the ‘buying himself another home in her name to avoid a higher rate of stamp duty thing’. That doesn’t make sense. She’s on the deeds, it’s her home not his. You don’t just hand over that sort of wedge to your partner to buy a place in her name either.

Certainly difficult to see how she would have the resources herself so funding support would need to come from somewhere. My guess would be the funds are legitimate and primarily via Nige, with some intricate financial planning and legal structure whereby the long term benefits far outweigh the risks of funding a property in her name or paying the extra stamp duty - that’s where it becomes way beyond anything I’m familiar with and where his City mates and advisers earn their money.

Going to be interesting to see what happens with this fraud investigation. Understandable why people would like the paper trail to ultimately land at his door but I’d be very surprised if there’s anything in that. More likely it’ll reinforce what we know about his morality and the company he keeps, which unfortunately falls on deaf ears on that side of the fence. However, if it is darker than that then things could begin to get very interesting.

That's very different to your thoughts on Rayner.

Moving money in these ways is more usually called money laundering.

I disagree. Rayner was playing the game, same as Farage and most other people. Her undoing was twofold; firstly, she eventually did something illegal, whether naively or through deliberate intent is irrelevant. Secondly, she was held to a higher standard of morality. Whether we like it or not that bit a least is a double standard those on the left are always susceptible to and the blows land harder. For AR and the moral high ground she herself and Labour took, her actions were indefensible.

As for money laundering, you need to be far more specific than simply saying “these ways”. Make an accusation of it with substantive evidence and there’s no reason why myself, anyone, including a court of law should disagree with you.

Back to AR, fwiw, I think she resigned at the moment it was about to get really juicy. She may have been able to ride out the SD storm, but the questions around the funding of the property and potential misuse of funds awarded from her son’s NHS settlement were potentially explosive. Whether she resigned through nobility or ran like a rat up a drainpipe to avoid what might has been coming is anyone’s guess.

If Farage is caught doing something illegal he should face the legal consequences the same as all of us. The morality consequences however is up to him and his supporters to decide, as per AR. That’s nothing new, it’s a consistent stance I’ve had from the beginning and I’m not seeing anything yet to change.

"No income tax, no V.A.T., no money back, no guarantee, black or white, rich or broke, we'll cut prices at a stroke"...

There seems to be a potential pattern in farage and his businesses, his political party, and his associates in taking every possible step to avoid paying any form of tax whatsoever.
Hardly the actions of patriots imo.

Didn’t know it had to add VAT on stuff it sold apparently, that’s what they’ve claimed
be great when they're running the economy....
given his house issue you'd think farage would have been smart enough to put £89k of it through a company owned 'solely' by his missus

The comments, oh the comments.

I just can't believe so many people like this exist, and are so unshamed in showing themselves as such awful people too!!

With thanks to Leeds for Europe;

Not only are Clacton lacking an MP they're also losing their Pizza Hut!
The Mayor has said it is very sad that they won't have access to the thick cheesy one in the future.

He added he'd also miss the pizzas.

Farage

To masturbate in an angry and confused way using unconventional stimuli.

Mark's Wife was furious when she caught him having a farage over a picture of Ann Widdecombe.

apparently reforms social media pages put out a happy diwali post, and members/followers piled in with a wealth of bile and vitriol in a "we thought you'd be getting rid of this type of stuff" replies.
This is the undercurrent populism. This is what over a decade of austerity has resulted in.
