General Wolves News

Any temporary seating will inevitably get in the way of trying to build the permanent solution.

That stand is a bit of a nightmare to sort out in fairness.

Levels outside are wank, only get decent access from the Northern end and even then the way they build half the corner as part of the North Bank means that route in is pinched more than it would've been until you've started to demolish part of the existing stand.

Possibly the best way to offset the capacity loss would be to demolish the lower tier first and then start building the lower tier of the replacement further forward to bring it closer to the pitch. Would be slow as fuck though because you'd have to build it out in stages from South to North and be operating in a restricted space between the pitch and what remained of the existing stand the entire time. Might not even be possible to demolish in that way though, depends on how the existing structure works. Probably end up with your new lower tier obstructing some of the views of what's left of the old stand too given how shallow the existing lower tier is, you'd expect the replacement to have a greater rake to it. Got to design that new structure so it'll stand up half built to until you get chance to knock the rest down and build the upper tier on the back of it.

All sounds very expensive to me, would drag on and on, further increasing costs, can see why they're hesitant. Not to mention the most experienced contractor for that type of work in the UK went bump last year, largely due to the risk of stadium projects. Wouldn't have thought you'd have many companies chomping at the bit to do it any that would are likely to throw a big risk pot at it.

As said you just have to accept the hit on it, it’s not a problem for now but will be one day.

Just rewatched the Sheff. Utd highlights. Question: What was the circular logo/symbol in the middle of the Wolves shirt last Sunday?
(Didn't know where else to put this question).

Wolves foundation - it was the annual game to highlight them.

"When Bruno Lage was in charge, he would keep a record of the five-a-side wins for each player in the squad."

What a bellend. Who cares about shit like that?

Used to get loads of pictures of the wining 5 a side teams on social media in the Nuno/Lage years. Not like it was a metric he was using to pick the team.

If this is accurate we have been extremely fortunate this season. Undoubtedly helps contribute to our successful campaign. We can't rely on having this amount of luck in the future.

We lost Neto for a third of the season. Cunha will be out for several matches.

It’s not overall time , it’s who and when

Yep. If Cunha isn't back until Villa then we'll have gone 5 straight months without fielding our first choice front three.

We have been here before. Small squad, everything going great, until injuries hit. Making a European spot could be a disaster, long term with the current squad we've got.

There is a certain % of luck there obviously but it's unfair to say it's just that. Also a lot of hard work and clearly a very good medical/fitness department.
Yep.

It's no surprise Newcastle are top given how shit Howe's management of that squad has been.

No consideration at all for the way they play creating injury problems, which it so clearly would especially with the increase in games.

That potential is only there if we continue to fail to supplement the squad.

I can see the pragmatic argument with the it's too early or the squad is too small comments, the issue I take with them is if we don't want to make Europe then what's the point? After 6 years and guaranteeing a 7th, just being in the PL isn't an achievement even though Jeff and co tried hard to make it one. I don't want to be Crystal Palace finishing 12th to 16th every season, even if that is preferable to relegation and probably the height of Fosuns ambition
