Is Vitor Pereira A Good Manager Or Should He Go?

Oh, earlier today you were saying then other sides around us aren't poor enough to keep us up, now you are posting this.
Erm because you need to be better than 3 teams to stay up not 1 maybe.
Secondly we cannot with straight face claim we’re better than anyone currently in the league.

It's great cheers, I am not naturally resigned to misery you see.
I do admire your optimism, mate. But the fact is, we haven’t won a game of football in the league in 6 months.

SIX MONTHS.

We need to win two games, just to get ahead of the team in 17th and that’s if they stand still. We are cooked, I’m afraid. There will be no miracle escape this season.

Fosun probably know we’re done, too - so will just plod along with Vitor.

All I did was state that at least West Ham look shit too.

Aside from that there are 90 points left to play for and the clocks haven't even changed yet, we also managed to turn around a far worse situation last season, (and under Lop) and we do have a decent spine.

It's not optimism, it's realism, things don't look good, but there are such a vast amount of variables with so long to go.

Am I saying we will definitely stay up? No. But this place is awash with so many saying we are definitely down, and dismissing any suggestion otherwise.

That is clearly bollocks isn't it, and also very boring and shit to read.

But it’s a bit high and mighty in tone mate. You make plenty of good points so no need to be pious about your mood. There are plenty of people you dismiss here as moaners who on matchday spend a great deal of time and money going to the game, being supportive, never booing and staying to the end. If in turn they want to come on here and make some fairly reasonable assessments of the complete and utter shit show it so plainly is then I’d hesitate in patronising them.

I'm "high and mighty" in this instance with JD because on Saturday he jumps on my post and completely misrepresents it when i was simply commenting on the ref, and he does it again last night.

I have barely commented over the last couple of weeks so I'm not sure what you're talking about?

But if you're talking about those match going fans, well i heard a large section of them who were there on Saturday singing "how shit must you be, it's only 1-0"

Yeah that's great support, and spending all that money and time to go up there and do that? Whatever floats your boat i guess, but i bet that really spurred them on.

I'm not sure we have a decent spine, as has been said we have 3 decent players in Andre, Gomes and Krejci. Larsen has been poor even though hes had no service (whether thats due to injury or attitude I dont know)
The players we were hoping would provide a bit of quality either havent or struggle to get in the team.
A lot of your post I agree with but last Saturday knocked the stuffing out of me from a 'being positive' pov)
We desperately need a win of any kind in the league to provide any kind of impetus from the players and the fans. That win needs to be against Burnley, if we dont beat them, then I dont see how Vitor survives.

I don't think it's defeatist to recognise how bad we are and also how little potential there is to get better.

Neither do I, but I dont think anyone should be criticised for suggesting all is not completely lost either.
Typed a reasonable response to this. Then realised that’s not what everyone is here for, so… yes, yes they should be criticised because they’re idiots and it’s just a facade for effect. None of them would genuinely put their own money on us winning on Saturday. Against Burnley. At home. What a shambles.

Look. You can do that and turn up to the game and genuinely support the team and hope we win at the same time. It’s supporting a football team not a logic test. Incredible.

I just don't see us beating Burnley. The atmosphere could be verging on toxic and the team are hardly displaying oodles of confidence to ride out the storm at present. VP says it's a must win - so where does that leave him if we lose.

My biggest concern, however, is who on earth would come in to replace him that would give the club a fighting chance of fixing all the on field issues and giving us some hope to stay up?

At least West Ham and Forest have made or are making sensible choices based on the need to survive and regroup.

I’m amazed anyone thinks there is any chance of us staying up at all. This squad has nothing about it and the manager has lost the plot.

Obviously I hope I look very silly come the end of the season, but this is only going in one direction at the moment

I think that is possibly the only chance we have of staying up - get after Shi the same way we got after Sellers, force a change.

Sadly apathy rules and it won't happen, people are so beaten down and weary from paying all that money that everyone is desperate for any light.

The only way we escape this is the board being reactive. Yet again. Showing their 'strategy' is fucking useless because no-one plans to chuck money at stuff when it inevitably goes tits up. Then repeat this several times on an annual basis to try and keep us up.

Agree with EP that it's not over yet, but eventually our luck is going to run out.

Of course there is a chance, you could go back to pre Lop and this time last year under GON and read exactly the same sorts of posts.

It looks fucking dismal at the moment, I'm not sugar coating that at all, but there are only 8 games gone! We are no more relegated than Coventry are championship champions.
