Israel-Palestine

Now who could have possibly put his country under threat from missile attacks….🤷‍♂️

“There are personal costs, people have been hurt, families have lost their loved ones. Each of us bears a personal cost, and my family has not been exempt – this is the second time that my son Avner has cancelled a wedding due to missile threats. It is a personal cost for his fiancee as well, and I must say that my dear wife is a hero, and she bears a personal cost.”

…and how is a cancelled wedding on a par with someone being killed?

"Hero", now there's a word that means fuck all in 2025.

Palestine Action will be designated as a terrorist group by our government.
It was obvious that was going to happen.

To be fair the right have been going on about this for a long time and people on the left were turning a blind eye to those ‘being dealt with’ whose views they didn’t agree with.

JSO, XR and the like running the authorities ragged saw them effectively experiencing the same treatment and it looks like we’re well on the way to anyone engaging in any coordinated strategic action suffering similar fate.

Should have been on the list instantly tbh, as soon as the incident was known about and the video was seen.
There’ll have been a lot of chats in offices yesterday without tea or biscuits ( the seriousness rises from whether you get both, either or none) and a lot of pissed off RAF personnel not being allowed to knock off work at noon and now having to work over the weekend as well.
That’s an old forces in joke the RAF knock off at noon Friday and start again 10am Monday

I have always had concerns about the Prevention of Terrorism Act having too broad a definition of terrorism. Attacks on property should be dealt with through the criminal justice system, even if they are politically, religious or otherwise motivated. When it is people who are the target then that is different.

Somewhere in between for me. Damaging a Jet2 plane is one thing, but RAF stuff is further/worse imo. It's (in theory) there for the protection of the nation and the public, and so damaging that should be a greater crime.

I'm pretty sure that if I'd tried to break into my brother-in-law's Naval base I would have been shot.

That's not a joke; you do not fuck around with USAF property here as a civilian.

To be fair, I'm surprised we dont act similarly here.
