Live Match Discussion 2024/25

And that is horrific by Onana. Plays a ludicrous pass to put them in trouble off their own free kick then easily beaten near stick, nowhere near the corner.

It used to be funny how bad they were, it now verges on the pathetic.

Casemiro could quite easily be walking for that if he wasn't wearing that shirt.

Some serious dented Villa egos
Madrid showing their class again. Fucking disgusting behaviour both before, during and after the match.

Topped of a very good day with Real losing another big game.
I agree arrogant winners and extremely poor losers. They despise the fact they play in a league that’s not the most financially superior. They were front and centre of the super league invention.
On Villa amazing how there was zero Villa fans walking around town this morning usually everywhere on Sunday after a big win.

Bournemouth going down to 10 men here for a challenge nowhere near as bad as the one from the 1st half

This is unlucky if Evanilson gets sent off.

But Adams should have walked earlier so swings and roundabouts.

The disappointing thing is man united won't really suffer too much from this period of shitness. They're not going down, and if they get things right again they'll be back in the top six in a season or two.

Part of me agrees, but part of me thinks they need about 8 new players too, and that won't happen quickly.

That’s never a red card. His foot slipped.

I didn’t see the one earlier though.
Wasn’t a red either, strong challenge that caught Garnacho on the follow through but no intent or anything dangerous. Worst challenge of the game was Casemiro down Evanilson’s side that didn’t even get him a card.

Prove intent? If it’s given red on field it would have stayed that way he was out of control and studs showing

Doesn’t mean anything does it, they’ve just given a red for a clear slip. Can’t really prove intent but from years of playing, coaching and watching football Adams is just putting in a tackle, look at the follow through etc.. there’s nothing exaggerated about it like say the Tarkowski one in the Merseyside derby that wasn’t given as a red despite it being the most obvious sending off.

I don't think you can fly in like Adams did these days, "got the ball" or not. 20 years ago maybe.

Again it's lack of consistency, was Semedo's challenge at Anfield on the final day of last season worse? (And I had no problem with that being a red, beyond it meaning we played Matt Doherty at RB in a back four in the Premier League in 2024 as a result)

Current rules mean intent and accidental actions aren’t getting you out of a red card these days. Endangering an opponent is going to get you in big trouble every time.

I don’t think he particularly flies in though, yeah he slides but that’s not outlawed. Unfortunately because they both challenge differently there’s always going to be contact. It was reckless or dangerous imo.

Semedo 100% a red for me and not comparable at all, over the top of the ball and it was reckless.

I don’t think he endangered anyone though, he slides in and Garnacho doesn’t meaning contact is likely and that isn’t outlawed. He doesn’t go in with excessive force and he isn’t high and he doesn’t exaggerate his leg movement to go straight and in a dangerous position.

I couldn't tell you which one of Bournemouth, Fulham, Brighton or Brentford I'd want to get into Europe, I dislike them all for similar reasons - the answer definitely isn't Bournemouth though, glad they've conceded.

Fulham for Raul for me (don't give a shit about Adama)
