Maybe - but I think if any of them read somebody (never mind an old white man) saying "these girls, you can never write them off" not one would offended, and they'd rightfully be proud of the praise.

I certainly hope so, but societal context gives me a great deal of doubt, I suppose.

Either way, it’s not outright sexism or revealing some personal hatred of women, and most folks who feel the language we use is more individualized than not probably won’t be persuaded regardless, which does not inherently mean they are bigoted or something.

No sympathy for Italy tried to shithouse their way to victory from about 60 minutes onwards and payed the price by conceding so late.
Poor game but England were the better side overall.
