Ahh, a fellow Mesa fan? I can't get enough of their equipment, either heads or cabs. Love it all.

The red cable was the longest I had in my bag, it was what was needed for the venue. I don't usually go out of my way to color coordinate the equipment. ; ) Nowadays all of my instrument cables are black w/ blue techflex-- I solder my own at home.

Our guitarist/banjo player alternates between pink and yellow leads. It's quite gharrrstly!

That's a beautiful looking bass t3ch, although you don't look too thrilled to be playing there! You still in a band?

I keep getting tempted by one of these:

Squier Custom Vibe Thinline Telecaster

It's not actually that pretty to look at but it plays and sounds superb. Beautiful, slim neck, light as a feather. It has a great balance of mahogany thickness and tele bite with an acoustic style coating. Not bad for £320.

Gibson Les Paul Junior Satin Cherry

Another fantsic neck, and a breeze to play. Very versatile for a single pickup guitar. I've been hankering a P90 for ages too. Costs twice as much as the tele, so probably not a realistic option, but we live in hope....

EHX Nano Small Stone Phaser

I keep blowing hot and cold for a phaser pedal. It's been a while since I had one, but I find myself wanting again. It's an endless cycle!

Moen GEC9 Effects Pedal Switcher

This is basically a unit allows you to swicth between any combination of pedals and amp channels. So tempted and only £200 which is a bargain for what it can do.

So chaps, what's on your list?

If i could have anything it would be an old Acoustic 360 bass head as used by Jaco Pastorius and Neil Murray, you just cant find them anymore.
Otherwise it would be a '59 Les Paul Goldtop as an investment.

That Moen is an incredible bargain

I was looking at getting an RG Electronics RJ-16 as a base for any rack unit I build. Does the same job of pedal and amp channel switching but costs about £1600!

As job circumstances mean no budget at all for gizmos at all this year, I should tell you the contents of the dream rack unit rig I have

Marshall JVM410H that I already have

Diezel Herbert head - those two heads in a rack cover all my tone and volume needs

In the rack itself the RG-16 already mentioned, plus an ISP Decimator rack mount noise reduction system

Pedal tray with Eventide Modfactor, Pitchfactor and Timefactor stomp boxes, plus Home Brew Electronics Doomsday Device distortion pedal, along with an EHX Compressor / Limiter

Korg rackmount tuner
Lexicon rack reverb
Some form of rackmount EQ
High quality power conditioner so I don't fry the lot

I drew out all the wiring diagrams for it once (both as a mono system and as a stereo wet/dry/wet (which was insane amounts of wiring))

As long as you get the RG-16 set up correctly and remember to have the power cables running to the power conditioner down one side of the rack cabinet and the connector wires between the units down the other to avoid power drop-outs through loops it isn't actually that bad. High quality Mogami cable and then a lot of cable ties and it shouldn't be too horrendous, although the pedal tray looked like spaghetti!

You then run a midi pedal board out of the front of the RG-16 and mount the expression and wah pedals next to that

I do take pleasure in cabling; working out signal paths and hooking things up etc. But whenever I go and watch a band, I'm always jealous when they have rodies/techs to do it for them.

I've got through so many guitars I can't remember them all. I ended up with my final two electric guitars being a Jackson PS6 and a Dean MLXT, I loved the Dean to bits and it was heartbreaking to get rid of it, no doubt one day i'll go and buy another one to annoy the missus.

I always used a Marshall 265 twin channel valvestate amp with a Boss Metal Zone pedal, I always intended on picking up a Korg G3 but never got round to it.

Thank you. It was a long night, probably during a boring song. I was pretty drunk and going back and forth between interacting in the crowd and trying to look serious on stage. :facepalm: At one point I was thrusting while playing behind someone and they didn't notice for like 30 seconds. Was pretty hilarious. Sort-of band currently, in the hunt for a new singer for the 3rd time.

I'm not convinced. I usually love naturaly wood finishes, but think they look better as a oiled/satin finish. That tele has got quite a thick layer of shiny lacquer which is more apparent in real life. If it wasn't for that, I'd probably already have one!

Ahh, alright then. The one in the pic almost looks satin, with a thick shiny coat of lacquer it would indeed be rather mediocre.

It was a Halloween gig at The Watering Trough in Walsall, I went as The Joker. I had a full face latex mask that had to come off after the first song, it was way too hot.
