Summer 2025 Transfer Window (not Wolves)

The Barca transfer policy is nuts.

Get player to agree to join
Agree fee with club
Tell player they can't sign just yet as they are not allowed to register him.
Guess where the Rashford deal currently sits

Wissa has now left Brentfords summer training camp. Suggests he too is off. It's turning into quite the exodus from there this close season.

It almost feels like their owners are sick of the PL and actively trying to take them back to their rightful place

£30m bid from Newcastle.

With how they are doing on transfers so far i reckon he will join Spurs.

Once Frank left I think the exodus was inevitable. A lot of those players will have known how crucial he was, I expect.

Ekitike to Liverpool confirmed.

PSR working exactly how it should so far this summer. The top 6 clubs strengthening their squads while splashing millions and all the clubs below that (which we are a part of) flogging their best players to make sure we stay within the rules.

Gotta love football in 2025.

Much as I dislike Villa, it does feel like bollocks that both them and Forest have to sell to buy after good seasons.

And as you say, Liverpool, United, Chelsea, Arsenal and to a lesser extent City just buy, buy, buy without a care.

I don't think anyone objects to football clubs being reined in to an extent to save themselves from themselves (they've proven over and over that they can't be trusted) but PSR/FFP is such a clumsy mechanism and even more so when it hasn't been adjusted for (football) inflation in over a decade.

Plus I will never understand how Chelsea escape breaching the rules. Don't have a particularly big or modern ground to generate funds, they've given Brighton alone a quarter of a billion pounds in the last 3-4 seasons, how much have they paid managers to go away, etc etc.

It is. It was even greater bollocks that we attempted to give it a go and were thwarted by a combination of FFP and Covid. The closed shop remains.

They’ve just been exploiting loopholes haven’t they, selling things they own to themselves etc. they also have a conveyor belt of decent youth players that they sell for good money which counts as 100% profit for PSR reasons.

It’s all fucked though really isn’t it, the stronger teams getting stronger and the weaker teams getting weaker.

He's had the red carrot dangled in front of him. It's not just us that get poached, even the likes of Newcastle having a great season last season get poached.. The big four will break away again sadly.
