There are many places here in Ireland that have great names but two that I know well are...
Man O' War! (Near Balbriggan) and...
Prosperous.
But one in the UK with captured my imagination and made me laugh, was the Cheshire village of Lower Peover. or it's neighboring village of course 'Upper Peover')
(For @Alan, this is pronounced as 'Peever')
But my all time favourite was in France at the side of a mountain, with a long drop to the left, was a sign posted to (at the bottom of the drop, 'DIE'. (Pronounced 'Dee')
So I got great mileage out of telling the kids who hadn't spotted the sign, 'Hey Kids, don't want to frighten you, but if we go down this winding road on this mountain, we're all gonna DIE!!!'
Of course we all took photos when we entered the village 30 minutes later.

Fuck, this reminds me of a bridge I drove on constantly back in Florida. Had a big sign which read plainly: BALLS CREEK.

Always got a good immature chuckle out of that.
