The Manager Sacked/Hired Thread 2024/25

From a Wolves POV Spurs taking Frank or Silva could quite help us. Fulham have a lot of poor players and Brentford would struggle if they got picked apart, a bad appointment could put either in trouble.

The down side is it's likely to make Spurs better, personally I don't think their current squad is much better than mid table, if that.

Marco Silva is so confusing to me. Generally seems decent but I can’t ever forget how his Hull side utterly capitulated in a win-or-Champo match the season he was there (came in later in the season IIRC, Big Alf was there at the time).
That Hull team was bloody awful, he had next to no chance of keeping them up

Agreed. He did well to give them a chance.

Mark on his record though was losing his head when things at Everton got tough.

Frank would be poor at Spurs IMO, direct football, shithouser. They would want the "Spurs way" quite quickly I think.

Probably not, but as Bear says, he kept them around for a bit. The way they folded in the match that relegated them was totally unacceptable no matter the talent diff.

I don’t recall who it was that beat the hell out of them that day tbf.

Think that's pretty harsh on Frank tbh. Brentford aren't direct as such, they're exceptionally good at moving the ball very quickly through the team.

Quite the reach to write off a manager based on one game 8 years ago with a shit team when he's clearly quite good.

Isn’t it? Says a lot about how wretched they were with everything on the line. That was on Silva as much as anything.

After being rejected by Rangers, Ancelotti Jr has had a lucky break and somehow got a coaching role with Brazil.

Must have good connections there...

What game is even being referred to with Marco Silva at Hull? They lost 7-1 to Spurs on the final day but they were already down. Embarrassing yes but in the grand scheme of things it doesn't matter.

Hull were no hopers that year, shouldn't have really come up and didn't even have a proper manager until Silva came in around January. Swansea took 13 points from their final 5 games, without that freak run he keeps them up. His time at Watford and Everton is what would make me concerned about him although seems like he has developed a lot at Fulham.
