The Manager Sacked/Hired Thread 2024/25

Didn’t Frank’s Brentford play good stuff in the Championship? They’ve just been pragmatic to stay up. Better than that, really.

Shit club, no fans. Should be nowhere near the top flight

There's a hell of a lot of snobbery against Brentford, when we were hardly a great watch under Nuno at times. We'd regularly decide not to bother playing after 70 minutes when we were winning games. He employs exactly similar tactics at Forest and they don't get the same shit either just because they were a big club once.

Jota was frequently on Maupay levels of diving and getting in opposition faces, leaving his foot in on defenders etc. But yep he was wearing a gold shirt so it was all fine and above board.

We did plenty of shit housing under McCarthy when we were in the Premier League too, which was perfectly acceptable then when it was us doing it.

Hahnemann in particular used to employ some of the biggest time wasting tactics I've ever seen in matches but was unsurprisingly lauded for it.

The point made is that i don't think he'd be a success at Spurs, funnily enough the example you give of Nuno wasn't good at Spurs either.

Brentford frequently take it levels higher than that.

When we lost at home to them under Lage (we deserved to lose, no tactics at all from the fucking idiot) it was appalling.

The Postecoglou news has not gone down well here. Much wailing and gnashing of teeth.

Yes, he won a trophy. But he beat an execrable team to do so. And their league campaign was historically bad.

I think the ball was only in play for a ridiculously low amount of time too.
Tbf, we never looked like scoring that day, some truly bizarre subs by Lage, a terrible performance. That was the day me and my lads came to realise that Lage wasn't a very good manager.

He’ll have the excuses of a long injury list and a ridiculous amount of games whilst still winning a trophy.
Doesn’t hide their appalling league form and that they could / perhaps should have been knocked out of the fa cup by a bunch of part timers.

He probably wins the extremely low bar achievement award of being slightly less shit than the last Tottenham manager to win a trophy.

Quite possibly :)

Is there any talk of this sacking leading to a possible player revolt at Spurs against Levy? News reported it here but my view is "what a load of old bollocks"

Precisely my thoughts. The players are devastated that the greatest manager ever has been hard done by. Mate.
