The Mental Health thread

Naan bread is too dense and filling if you're having rice as well.

Chapati or Paratha.

I've got to be honest, guys. That curry sauce looks like one of the least appetizing things I've ever seen. And I've seen my cat's hairballs.

I was imagining dunking chips/fries into a massaman or something.

I also take moral issue with the practice of drowning chips in a condiment. Dipping is the ethical choice.

You get it in a separate container, so you can choose to dip if you want.

Sometimes I drown it in curry sauce then whack some ketchup on top too :D

Ketchup in the UK is different from US ketchup, isn't it? Ours is sweetened, I hear y'all's is not.

You would think so but wait until you try curry chips from a proper chip shop.
Gamechanger.

In Ireland, the Chinese takeaways do something called a 3-in-1

Rice, chips and curry sauce in a tray.
4-in-1 is the above with chicken balls added. 5-in-1 is the above with beef and chicken added.

Only costs a fiver and is like food from the gods when walking home after a heap of pints
Aye, the local Chinese does these but doesn't put them on the menu, and they don't call it 3 in 1 (I wish they did as that would be a lot easier to order after a skinful)

Like you say its on kebab levels of brilliance after a belly full of beer!

Don't get me wrong, curry sauce and chips is decent but it'll probably be a little underwhelming to you, youre not getting a particularly great range of flavour. Its odd because as nice as the chips are as soon as you put curry sauce on you can't go back to eating them without it on.

Salt and pepper chips from the Chinese or Masala chips from an Indian restaurant I find offer much better levels of flavour.

Maybe a silly question, but... they haven't stuck any meat in curry sauce, have they?

I was very sad when I realized I wouldn't be able to have the American version(s) of gravy. Or even most common broccoli + cheese soups over here (which usually use chicken or bone broth).

Chip shop curry sauce is absolutely veggie friendly.

One of my faves from years ago when the kids were tiny was for the curry house where I lived. Dive in on the way home from the pub for a kebab in a naan and then they would give you a selection of curry, madras, or vindaloo sauce. Awesome and majestic.

It's veggie, but not necessarily vegan, although some chippies do a vegan option

Only had this conversation with a Geordie mate on Facebook the other day over how the news of this actually knocked you about, more than it should have, so sad

Yep, and it was worse the more detail you read about. Horrible to think of someone in the grip of such despair

Ten years! Holy shit.

I don't think I can do this any more. It's killing me and nothing I try helps.

If I could fix it I would. I can't.

There is always a better day ahead, Dan. I know that’s so hard to have faith in, but it has always been true for me. Even if I had to be very patient.

You have it in you to beat this, mate.
