3 points for CLT, so y'all know what that means... Highlights!
Our first is off the back of some
very stereotypical "MLS defending" (and Celentano probably should do better), but I won't complain; Liel has badly needed
something to go right for him as he's started the season woefully. He's clearly talented as all get out, but it's remarkable how much watching him here has convinced me that the standard of defending in the SPL (SPFL?) is beyond atrocious.
Our second, though, is becoming a bit of a Patrick Agyemang special. There might not be a single forward in MLS who is better than Big Pat at running off the shoulder and just leathering the ball home (though, in this case, the finish was more placement than power, but any time he's allowed to get vertical into the box, well, he "knows where the goal is").
Zaha; I don't know if I missed some really bad injury he got at some point, or if he's just rusty from not playing much over the last year, or if he hasn't got to grips with plastic grass, but things haven't quite been coming off for him as yet. Still, he's regularly pulling two or three defenders to him, which I would expect we'll get better about taking advantage of as the chemistry in the side continues to gel.
Exactly what we needed after the debacle in Miami. We just don't look like we know how to lose at BofA right now. Long may that continue.
Oh, also, Evander from Cincy is a stunning player. Just a joy to watch.
