Portuguese newspaper A Bola published an alleged loan of Jimenez from Benfica to Wolves.

That deal is done.

As for the review I said I would do on him:

Raul is not a typical striker. He likes to drop to the wings (too much imo) and that does harm his goal scoring record. With space he does have a nice long shot and his heading ability is above average (shame he does not use it much because when the ball is crossed..he is on the wing). He had most of his success with Benfica when coming from the bench. His work rate is tremendous and he usually has the ability to shake things up.

Funny thing about him...he is capable of missing a goal 2 metres away from the keeper but he then can score a wonder from 30m. And he is one of those guys who seems to be built to score in big matches. (Something that Jonas can't do for example). Raul did score against Bayern, Sporting, Zenit...etc.

He is not a technical masterpiece but for some reason he is brilliant with rabonas. He actually made a tremendous assist to Jonas last year with a rabona.

One of his best qualities imo, is that he seems to be a true team player. He never really complained about not being very much used, and always waited for his opportunity with the same dedication. He cost us 22M euros.

The rabona assist:

Enjoy.

I'm not sure that the deal is done. I haven't seen it reported anywhere else, unless you have some inside information?

I'm not against it, although it does leave a weird taste. Guess he deserves the move as he will be used even less with Ferreyra and Castillo signing to Benfica.

Would be a very good move by Wolves too, signing such a player.

If the 1st part is right, switches out to the wings, then he will fit perfectly with the fluid formation we would go with. Interchanging with Jota or Cav will work just fine

Bloody Mendes! How dare he help try to bring in players that suit us. Devil reincarnate he is!

You don't understand why people don't want a player clearly on the way down and who will hold no value in a couple of years?

If we don't get cancelo then this guy seems like a decent short term option. No way do we want just doc at RWB next season.

We might need players to help us bridge the gap though. Signing someone like Ababte for 1 or 2 years wouldn't be terrible.

Will signing an experienced European player from a top club help with the dressing room in the big games?

Well considering Wolves squad, I guess some experience at top leagues would be handy...with that being said, not sure Abate would be best option for that role...

He’s a massive improvement on Doherty. Not every player we sign will be players we end up selling on for £30m+ profit. He improves our starting 11 immeasurably, so I’d be fine with us signing him, thanks.

To a degree it did. Individually Snodgrass, Jedinak, Terry, Hutton, Chester, Odomah, El Hamody all had decent seasons. Villa's issue was filling a side with them. Ruddy as it stands is our only starter over 30, another one or two won't hurt as long as they aren't finished.

Okay churlish cheap shot aside. Experience isn't valuable. Its chaacter that counts. Played and worked with plenty of experienced individuals who were posionous to the team. Happy to have players any age that fit.

Experience can help, combined with sufficient ability and the right attitude. Sam Ricketts come to mind, he was a perfect fit for us.

Pretty sure the 'better than Matt Doherty' club does not have an exclusive worldwide membership of one.

Abate used to be a pace merchant. Haven’t seen him play in years

Jimenez Senior career goal record = 1 goal in every 3.5 games, a bit like Bonatini only much older.
