The Summer 2025 Transfer Window Thread

He's the club captain. Absolutely no objection with Nelson having a look around at what's available - but his situation should have been clear by the end of the season, from both his AND the Wolves side. It's not like neither of them knew he was in the last year of his contract.

Him coming back and signing the new contract at this point is the equivalent of a all your mates turning a girl down in the club and then you taking her home and bragging about it.

Also, you're being extremely generous saying the club will have contingency plans. It's like you haven't seen how we've done business for the last 5+ years.

You're being ridiculous in the first 2 paragraphs.

You might be right in the last one though.

Indeed.

I have no objections with him taking his time before deciding what the best move is for his career, his family and himself. Sometimes it's easy to forget there is a human being behind all this and it's still a big decision.

Whilst I look forward to being proven wrong this summer, and to see a flurry of decent, well scouted signings before the start of the season, I'm not going to hold my breath either.

Villareal F.C.

Seem they pay less than 12,77 £, for one player who is TOP "key passes" on the league: Moleiro 21 years.

They sign he to cover Baena, the main player of the spanish squad.

Its like David Silva, its a Gift, the other season some teams offered like 30 £ for he...

Here we go... the 80s and Bhatti card... like something that is 40 years ago is relevant now.
OK, you want relevant now. In the last decade we have gone from a Championship side to a Premier side that has played in Europe and reached an FA Cup semi. We have had some fantastic players we have sold for large amounts and still have a talented squad. We haven't flirted with administration or been under any financial pressure other than the b/s that the Premier League / UEFA drummed up.

I know it is form to knock because we aren't at the top end of the Prem at present, that season ticket prices have gone up, we have sold good players and Jeff / Fosum have made some big mistakes but the bottom line is we are going into our 8th consecutive season in the Prem and we have money in the bank. I guess some folks are never happy.

Why should it and why would you presume that Wolves didn't want to get this sorted? Is it just another crutch to knock Fosun / Jeff?
The player has all the power and right now, he's earned the right to exercise it because he has performed to the contract he originally signed with us. Frankly, he can take all of June to decide and probably some of July. It's the players call and quite why this is being used to knock anyone at Wolves is beyond me. It's ridiculous.

Just checking you’re happy that’s a definitive list?

It’s also a clumsy sleight of hand to suggest that people unhappy with the running of the club do so because they expect to be in the upper reaches of the Premier League, as if they’re children. You know full well that’s not the grievance.

Do I? Football fans are never happy. Always want something or someone to moan at or about.

The situation is clear. We’ve offered a deal and it’s not to his liking. Therefore, he hasn’t accepted it and his shopping around. The only way a deal gets done is if one of the parties changes their stance or they get back to the table. Given nothing happens for another three weeks minimum, then there is no rush from either‘s point of view.

Since then:

We are not progressing, we are going backwards, that is not "good" ownership.

Waste of time/energy. Some people will defend the club regardless of circumstance. It’s like a badge of honour.

I mentioned a week or so ago that we’ll be getting told to “trust the club” and will have to have that circular argument that happens every transfer window shortly. We’re dangerously close to being there already.

I think some, not many, have put too much trust and faith in the Johnny Phillips piece from a few weeks back about the "penny has finally dropped" with Fosun etc...

As things stand we're considerably weaker now from when the season ended.

It's early, we know that, but we've been here before and we know how this pans out.

As someone (Sniffer?) pointed out a day or so ago other clubs already have the replacements lined up to bring straight in when they sell a player.

Whereas we're consistently told to trust the process...🙄

Here’s the thing I don’t get. Why haven’t we gone out and secured Kyle Walker-Peters on a free transfer?

We’ve lost our first choice left wing back - we’ve no idea whether our first choice right wing back is staying (ridiculous situation, as alluded to earlier). Lima didn’t feature much under Vitor so may be better suited for a loan. Hoever is unlikely fit for purpose at this level. We’ve got Rodrigo who can cover both sides but he’s a tad lightweight defensively and seems better going the other way.

You’ve got a free agent, who’s homegrown, can play on both sides - has premier league experience - has steadily improved and developed throughout his time at Southampton available right now. He’s on realistic wages & wouldn’t cost a transfer fee - and is someone we could be getting through the door. Why aren’t we in for him? I’m pretty sure he’d still sign regardless of whether Semedo stays.

You can guarantee we are waiting for Nelson to make his decision before we go out and sign someone else. But in the meantime, we’ve no idea who we might miss out on because other clubs have got in there first. THAT amongst many other reasons is why the situation is ridiculous, at least from the clubs perspective.

So you are happy with regression?
I understand that football clubs go through cycles. Perhaps we achieved too much too soon and it raised fans expectations?

Last season is done. So are past seasons. A new season will soon begin. Time to look forward.

It was you that brought up the Bhattis :ROFLMAO:
