I mean, you're not even quoting the post I'm taking issue with, but knock yourself out dragging someone else's disagreement out even more if it floats your boat

It was a throwaway comment that didn't require a deep dive analysis.

But if I'm being honest it's exactly the kind of thing that is straight out of the Fosun handbook, i.e look, we've held onto our number 1 forward... aren't we great, and supporters will happily trot it out as a line. Not like we haven't all seen it happen before!

It's exactly the same with potential signings, that were never likely to happen, and you get supporters saying "well you can't fault them for trying".
